I stand by this:
Mystics are more mystics,
Fundamentalists are more fundamentalists,
Agnostics are more agnostic,
Universalists more universal,
Tribalists are more tribal
than Christians are Christian,
than Jews are Jews,
than Hindus are Hindu,
or Muslims Muslim,
or Atheists a-Theist.
The approach winds up saying more than the point of origin. You can switch out the terms in one fundamentalist's screed and it'll pass for most other religions'. Likewise the mystic poems. They also see their own in the other; it's always the Christian Y'all Quaeda type that wants to go after Muslims as if they're all dangerous militants.
All the types pile on if there are enough people involved. That's humanity. It doesn't fully reflect on the small inception or inspiration that started the group.
