Ah, but first of all... I want to say the following:
¡Dying Is Expensive!
Honestly, I don't know if or how many of you have asked yourself this question before. I guess none, since I suspect most people here or anyone reading this are still too young to ask themselves uncomfortable questions. But let me tell you, that this is a really serious issue that everyone should ask themselves well in advance of the unavoidable events.
Or maybe I'm wrong, and regardless of whether you are too young, you actually have thought about it and you indeed have planned ahead about the options and alternatives of how you would like to be said goodbye. Your actual last farewell.
Because in the way things are and how the economy is currently behaving around the world, I imagine that many of you will not be so irresponsible as to leave that undesirable choice and heavy burden on your loved ones when they least expect it.
But in any case. I also know that many like me, those who have already had a long journey through the green meadows of life. We have already thought about this multiple and many times before. As every responsible elder should do.
And on the other hand, because despite having already thought about this, having decided on the matter and believing that we already had everything resolved. Times may have changed a lot and the current circumstances in which we could find ourselves today, may have changed too much as to make things a little more difficult and uphill for us to fulfill what we had originally planned and desired in a far past.
By instance, I still have a parcel of four places in a prestigious cemetery in the capital in which there is still an empty grave that was the one I planned to occupy. And then, when the time comes, I could meet again and stay forever in company of the other three members of my most beloved relatives who already occupy the other three graves. Because this plot and last resting place had already been acquired a long time ago.
But you know what? With some sadness I realize that what I had so well planned. Seems like it is not going to be possible. For multiple, diverse and different unforeseen reasons.
One of the reasons, because I currently find myself living in a city quite far from where this plot is located. Another reason, because precisely due to this distance that I have maintained over the years from where this plot is located, this has also prevented me from visiting the place again more often and personally covering the maintenance costs and other costs and expenses that I should have had covered.
By which nowadays, I'm not even sure if that cemetery parcel still belongs to me and what is even worse, if my beloved family members are still there waiting for me. Do you realize how things can change enormously in a short time despite having had everything well planned, decided and resolved for a long time? Yeah, things change very fast!
And finally and in addition to the two previous reasons. I probably won't end up there with my beloved relatives for this other reason that is perhaps the most important of all.
Because where I am now is not only too far from that little plot in the cemetery. But because where I am now, I do not have any close family member or someone who cares enough for me as to take charge of being able to fulfill my wishes as I already had them planned, decided and resolved. Therefore, I must now make other plan and take another decision.
And this is exactly where you come into play to help me choose. And consequently...
As you should know, today there are and are offered several new methods and procedures to be said bye bye and you also say your last goodbye. Let's see:
- Being buried.
- Being cremated.
- Being freeze-dried.
- Being aquamatized.
- Being cryogenically stored.
- Being embalmed & mummified.
- Being treated as an organ donor and save lives.
- Being delivered to science's body farms for experiments.
- Being left and exposed to nature thrown in some landfill to feed vultures and other scavengers.
Oh! and by the way. You should also know that today there are several forms of burial:
- Ground burial.
- Sea burial .
- Sky burial.
Each one feeding a good amount and variety of different living beings in the wild, you know?
Then, which one would you say should I think about now? ¿Huh? Hey! help me out here bro! Because time runs much faster than you imagine. Have you already thought about that?
But yeah ok, in the most traditional sense, what you have to take seriously in account here. It's that Dying actually is free. It's trying to diminish grief that is endlessly expensive. Since people usually will spend a fortune on it before they realize money does not and will not make any difference whatsoever.
The expensive things like embalming, lead-lined coffins, flower arrangements and wreaths, fancy processions, carried out to the grave slot (if you already had one), huge headstones with golden inscriptions, etc... Uhm, well, that’s just clever marketing by the death industries. Since traditional methods of disposing human remains like cremations or burials always will be expensive and on the rise netting the U.S. and to the global funeral service industry in general around $20 billion a year.
So, in conclusion. Why the heck leave gravestones scattered around in the fields that will eventually not be cared about by anyone and make our loved ones feel guilty for not visiting us nor leave us a few flowers from time to time or hardly once in a lent?
Well, in any case, that's what I have to think about now since there is a good chance that I won't be able to leave mine in a field that I supposedly had already reserved and prepared for it, eh?
So, be kind and lend me a hand to solve presto this current conundrum. Don't leave me alone in this predicament. Remember that time flies and the longer it takes us to decide, the most likely thing is that another new fancy method & posh procedure may suddenly appear out of nowhere to be said your last goodbye. And which surely would have been the one we would have preferred to choose.
Oh yeah, and lastly never forget:
¡Time Flies!
Alright folks! already said what was said. Once we have this thing entirely resolved, then we already can continue discussing how the heck we are going to eliminate Hive's rewards pool. Okay?
