First off, u either get this quote or u dont. Need help? Was Steve Jobs a lunatic?
I guess I should state my perspective upfront before anything else because as a human being, I can't help but be subjective (as much as I like to believe that I am objective). Thankfully, Steemit.com is a blockchain-based platform, so I am "preaching to the choir" so to speak. That is, most people on steemit are libertarian-minded. At least, I assume that. Bullshit robots need to go or the platform will die. Anywho...
I have kept my persona on steemit to mostly liberty-minded goals. That is, I haven't gotten personal. In an ironic way, let's "break some rules". I titled my article "Lunacy...". That's the crux. And that brings me to my point. An overwhelming number of the people of the world "believe" in government. They vote! So did I until 2012. And worse. It is the world we live in. The problem isn't that silent libertarians stay at home. The problem is that violent idiots go out and vote!
Our childhoods "condition" us. As adults, we must reason through our childhood conditioning. If u are still with me, please consider that government is the joke of all time. We are conditioned to worship the flag. "God bless America!" U may be "invested". Epiphanies are not for everyone. No one gets convinced overnight. It takes a lot to acknowledge one's own hypocrisy .
So I promised to be personal. On an immutable blockchain. I recently faced the biggest personal challenge to my ideology. I am gunna be vague, because, well, just because. Bottom line is that I did not stand my ground, yet I landed on my feet. While grateful for the result, I am still upset with myself for compromising. What would you depend on.. ideology or humanity? I guess it's nice to be wrong sometimes. I know this is vague, but thanks for the read.
