I am one of them. I have had emetophobia since I was about 6 years old. Some people find my fear of natural bodily functions ridiculous. To others it's funny and they use that fear to make fun of me.

Unfortunately, few people understand what I'm afraid of. I have dealt with this fear for over a decade of my life and it doesn't always get easier or better over time. I just learned to adapt.
If you're one of the lucky few who don't suffer from a life-altering phobia, everything can confuse you. You may wonder if you're trying to get attention.
If you know someone who has a phobia and has expressed it to you, you don't have to understand it. All they need is a little compassion and empathy.
I have changed countless aspects of my life and routines to deal with this fear and live to avoid it.
