this time I want to try to share with my friends about the definition of mangrove that I took from some valid references and benefits about mangrove forests for humans. Mangrove is a tree that has adapted in such a way that will be able to live in a high salinity environment such as marine environment. While mangrove forest is a tropical and subtropical beach vegetation community dominated by several types of mangrove trees capable of growing and growing in tidal areas of muddy beaches (Nontji, 1993).
Mangroves grow on sheltered beaches or on flat beaches, usually in places where there are no river estuaries, usually growing widely. Mangroves do not grow on steep, wavy beaches with strong tidal currents, as this does not allow for the deposition of mud from sand, as the substrate required for its growth (Nontji, 1993).
Mangroves are tree plants or plant communities that live between the sea and the land affected by the tides. Msngrove habitats are often found in the meeting place between the mouths of rivers and seawater which later became the protector of land and big ocean waves. River runs fresh water for mangroves and at high tide, mangrove trees are surrounded by brine or brackish water. (Murdiyanto, 2003)
