What camera do you use?

Firstly I'm impressed by the quality of the photos most user post here. Some of them are really inspiring! This got me wondering about the type of camera used. Last summer I tried to take some nice looking photos by my own, unfortunately all I had was a old digital camera :( I heard of people making those kind of photos with their phone, as the smartphone cameras are getting better and better . Do i need some professional camera to get great results or is it more skill based? Maybe some of you could recommend me a camera model you like :)  

Another point I struggle about is the fact that reflex cameras are heavy and bulky. That's at least what i experienced myself. Are they really that bad to take them with you on a trip?
