I had fun experimenting with my lighting style the other night, so I’m going to try it again later. But for now, I want to share another composition exercise I did earlier. This one is all about looking up.
I think this is an interesting way to take photos because I don’t usually look above my usual viewing angle. Maybe it's just not something I normally do, or maybe I’ve just gotten used to looking straight ahead while walking. But today, I did something a little different—and I want to stay motivated to keep doing it. That’s why photography helps me so much: it gives me a reason to try something new.
One of the great things about photography is that it encourages me to go for walks. I don’t go walking very often, so having a reason—like wanting to capture something interesting—really helps. Even if the photo just ends up stored in my phone’s memory, that’s enough for me. It adds meaning to the walk, and that’s what really matters.
Photography has a unique way of opening our eyes to perspectives we often overlook. It reminds me to slow down, be present, and find beauty in the ordinary. I hope this small reflection inspires you to look up, explore more, and capture moments that matter to you.
