Jan Černčický from Kácova was founded in 1501 by the new town of Metuje.
The castle was built on a rock surrounded on three sides by the river Metuje. It received the market privilege, the right to collect customs duties and the right to brew beer. In 1526, the wooden city was destroyed by fire, and then rebuilt in the Renaissance style, which today you admire with me.

You probably wonder how much the castle in Nowe Miasto over Metuje cost.
Josef Barton paid exactly 2,350,000 Austrian crowns for him. It was a huge sum for those times. For comparison, the Czech car produced by Laurin and Klement cost 3600 Austrian crowns.
