I captured these macro photos using my Canon 80D camera with a 75 -300 mm lens.
I have always found spiders to be one of the most interesting insects in the entire animal kingdom. The rate at which they can spin a web is astounding, yet if you look closely, there is usually a uniformity to the way they do so. I also find it to be one of the most precise ways of hunting. If anything that flies around gets stuck in their web, it is usually a death sentence.
The amount of eggs they can produce is also quite impressive. Spiders will lay anywhere between 1 and 1,000 eggs when they produce them, depending, of course, on the species.
While I'm not a huge fan of finding them in my house or my shoes (a common issue in the Florida ecosystem) the amount of good they do cannot be discounted. You will often find mosquitos and other harmful insects stuck in their webs, making them less likely to give humans a disease.
As you can see in these photos, plants and other debris will also find itself stuck in their webs, depending on the strength of the web.
Truly a fascinating creature and they are most likely the best purveyor of natural art in nature.
