Happy New Year From The Snake River in Washington State

From the mountains to the hills, to the mighty Columbia River...well this is the Snake River but it is close enough... right?!?? Besides a light dusting of snow on the trees in the mountians, A river of glass is right up there in my book.

If you didn’t notice, it is a bit cold this morning. I found this piece of drift wood and there was a little sheet of ice sticking out of the water. The edge of the river was thawing out when I got there, so I probably missed the best part.

Still, the Snake River looks so calm and peaceful....relaxing....

I was at a river station, a place where the farmers have pumps utilizing thousands of horsepower to pump water into their surrounding fields. This place is mainly sand, so they need all the water they can get.

I didn’t get any photos of the pumps, because I was too caught up in the river. I am just upstream from the Ice Harbor Dam. It’s hard to make it out, but off in the distance the Dam sits creating this calm body of water.

I hope everyone has had an awesome 2018 and don’t settle for anything less in 2019. If 2018 wasn’t what you wanted...then it is up to You to change that for 2019
