There is a new app called Steem Follower
It allows you to vote on other people's content in return for getting voted by them. The idea is to help people with low amounts of steem power to get noticed so that it isn't just the steempower giants (sorry I don't know the exact terminology!) that get all the financial benefit. It encourages people to only vote for content they actually like and is manual not fully automated. It just serves up posts by people who have joined the steem follower scheme. I won't be using it all the time as I want to find posts by people outside of this as well but I shall definitely try out using it some of the time.
The upvoting impact is estimated by the app as:
The Step by Step instructions on How to Join SteemFollower are :
- Click on your avatar picture in the right upper corner and then on 'Wallet'
- Click on 'Permissions'
- Go to 'POSTING KEY'
- Click on 'SHOW PRIVATE KEY' (to the right)
- 'Example - 5JxMS9nUbgKoFUvPW5vccGafxxxCrszZ727w2FhgHaGJqjs16eh'
- Copy the private key
- Go to - https://steemfollower.com/?r=1366
- Click 'Login'
- Enter your steemit username (without the @) and click 'Next'
- Paste your private posting key and click 'Log In'
- Accept the requested permissions to Vote and Follow and click 'Continue as @username'
Thats all, now you can click on 'Upvote Excange' and start voting. You can click on 'Refresh List' to get another 15 posts that you can upvote. The person who told me about this recommended leaving the percentage at default, so that it is possible to find the upvotes easily at steemd.com or steemdb.com
You also get benefit from getting people to come to this by an affiliate link. I've used the affiliate link and fully declare it. This system obviously benefits early movers most but it doesn't have a cost to anyone as it is free so I don't have a problem trying it out. It is also the first app I've tried other than the steemit social medial site and I'm curious to try one out.
Let me know what you think. I'm going to start using it later in the week when my voting power is restored (which may take several days as it is now depleted!)
