We had a great day sailing out to McNabs Island yesterday for the last day of sailing for the season. Couldn't have asked for a better day.
McNabs has a lot of history for Halifax. Not only is there a number of old forts from WWI and WWII, but there are also stories of people with cholera being sent there as a quarantine from ships arriving from Europe. The people who died from that are still buried out there. Plus, on the North side of the island, there are a number of old shipwrecks along the beach. There are lots to see out there and if you're ever in Halifax, take the time to make the trip out to the island to have a look around. There is a water taxi that can get you out there for a pretty good price so you don't even need a boat.
I took a ton of pictures along the way.
Hope you enjoy them.
