Yak’s eyes can tell you a lot... you just cannot understand what exactly ))) This photo was taken mid-March, when Himalayan climbers are just coming to Kathmandu, but big commercial expedition preparations run full steam. Despite normally warmer weather, we had some overnight snow showers that made yaks suffer so much because of frozen, slippery path. 🏔
Thinking of them as of poor animals, I can’t say their fate is that bad. They are strong, live in the mountains they like, do job they are good at, get some kind of respect and protection from people - much more than even many humans can ever get. Strong, beautiful species. 🏔
Yaks are the cutest thing you'll find in the Nepali mountains. they can be a bit scary when they are standing in the middle of the trails and just look at you without moving ... I admit I climbed out of the trail a few times to avoid them and their horns 😉
