#997 - Bataan and Zambales Shots for Wednesday.
Happy Wednesday dearest Hiveans! Remember Hiveans, always remember that your thoughts create your reality. If you want to change your life then go start by changing your mind. Fill it with positivity, gratitude and belief in yourself. You are the captain of your ship they say so steer it towards the horizon of your dreams. We've got the power! Just like that classic song says "I got the power!"
And now for our travel shots for the day, taken when we visited Zambales and a side trip to Bataan. The sun begins to come out early morning painting the sky with with blue, as my wife and I, along with a few other brave souls, were to the shore of Liwliwa Beach in Zambales. The beach isvusually a bustling hub of activity midday but was ours for the taking, the low tide having receded, exposed a good stretch of wet sand that shimmers.
We wade into the cold water with a shocking sensation that got us awake. The other visitors can be heard with a low murmur. We swim even in the shallow with the cold a mere afterthought as we enjoyed the early morning dip. As the sun continues its ascent, the air was also getting warm. We lie on the sand getting in the sunshine.
After our morning at Liwliwa Beach, we decided to make a detour to Bataan which is a historic province rich with stories of bravery and sacrifice. Our destination was Mount Samat is a towering landmark that stands as a solemn reminder of the past with its massive structure a powerful symbol of remembrance and respect for the soldiers who fought and died during World War II. The journey up to the cross was an adventure. We joined other visitors climbing the steps that wound its way up the mountain.
Reaching the top, we were greeted by the majestic cross with platform around the cross offered panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. We took photos and selfie as remembrance. The atmosphere was with solemn reflection as remembrance of the heroes who had given their all. Mount Samat is more than just a tourist spot but also a memorial where the spirit of our heroes of World War II continues to inspire and remind us of the true meaning of courage and sacrifice.
