Don’t let anyone’s opinion of us affect our opinion of ourselves.
No one is perfect and those that are the most critical are usually the most insecure.
There is the old Irish saying that we try to remember, when people are talking their junk and we want to reply with sharp words. The saying:
“Tis so much bad in the best of us and so much good in the worse of us that it hardly behooves any of us to speak ill of the rest of us.”
Now, this applies both externally and internally, because it’s true.
We are also typically our own worse critics, because we beat ourselves up and absorb the criticisms of others too.
We often use the words of others to define ourselves.
Don’t do that.
Word can be very powerful, so watch what we say to others and ourselves especially.
There will be enough critics in this world to judge us harshly, so don’t be one of them.
People will pick at judge everything about us, if we let them.
Don’t let them drain out our voice.
When someone questions our character and we know we did no one wrong, then that is on them.
When someone says we’re ugly, it’s them really telling us that they feel ugly on the inside.
No matter what terrible thing someone says about us there is more being said about them.
Build ourselves up everyday, because we deserve it.
