So much has happened in the last week with Polyverse that I am not sure I will be able to A) remember it all and B) write it all down. There is so much going on that I just HAD to let you all know.
What is Polyverse?
Polyverse is a web3 browser based, Endless-Wave, Alien-Killing, Shoot-em-up, 3rd person, RPG game. 😎
I have written about Polyverse many times so I won't rehash everything but at it's core you have a Character NFT (on ETH) that is 1 of 6 races. You stake it to be able to play and then you wake up on a wrecked spaceship looking thing and you gotta' go defend it by defeating wave after wave of enemies.
The game is still currently in Alpha but that is A-OK. Alpha Game link here: https://game-test.polyverse.gg/
But you won't just be able to start playing, you will need to join the Discord and get whitelisted before you can start.
After you die fighting off the endless waves of enemies, you get rewards. They can be resources (like Water, Wood, etc) or it could be in-game currency, or it could be items which include Blueprints (to make new weapons), Safebits (used to upgrade weapons) or other items as well.

What's New?

Let's get the elephant out of the room shall we? The Poly team was MIA for a few months with minimal at best communication during that time. But they have come back and explained the lack of communication and any shortcomings up until this point. They are back on track and running full steam ahead. This isn't some project run by 2 friends in their garage and are rug-pulling us all. The team has had a few successful rounds of investments and are truly working on the next MASSIVE web3 game.
PATIC
The official launch of the PATIC token will occur sometime in March or April but based on further communication by the team I think that it is leaning more towards early April.
$PATIC will be the currency of the game. It will be used for most everything and will be on the Ethereum blockchain and also the WAX blockchain to start. There will be a bridge between them as well.
BETA
The game is currently playable in it's Alpha stage. However after $PATIC launches in April there is going to be a 6-week Beta. Anyone who holds a Genesis Character NFT will be able to take part in the Beta testing.
Once the 6-week Beta finishes, is when people who do NOT have a Genesis NFT can stake PATIC to be able to also play the game. This will be the normal method for everyone who does NOT own a Genesis Character once the game launches. You can stake a certain amount of PATIC and get a in-game character to 'rent'. If you want you can withdraw that Character and sell him on a marketplace but it will burn the PATIC you staked for him.
3 new Contests are LIVE RIGHT NOW
There are 3 new contests that went live today. All 3 are open to anyone who has a Genesis Character NFT and is in the Discord. Every contest has daily winners and there is 15,000 $PATIC on the line each and every day!
Play 2 Earn Contest
This is pretty straight forward. You play the Alpha game and post a screenshot of the end screen in the Discord channel. The Polyverse team picks a winner each day.
Create 2 Earn Contest
Create content and share it on some social media and post a link to it in the Discord channel and you get a chance at winning PATIC. Again this is a everyday contest. So stop on by and create artwork, create articles like this one you are reading right now, create anything really and show it off and you could win $PATIC.
Engage 2 Earn Contest
This is the easiest of the bunch I think. All you have to do is be an active member of the Discord Server each day to have a chance at winning. The Polyverse wants to reward people who are actively apart of the community and one of those ways is talking to each other and helping each other in their Discord server.
What can you do right now?
If you do NOT have a Genesis NFT that is okay there are still options for you. You can do any of the following and start earning $PATIC now before the game even launches.
Join the discord and just chat with us. You actively gain Discord Experience and when the game launches there is a specific allocation of $PATIC that gets distributed to Discord users based on their EXP.
Take part in the Create or Engage contests currently running. You do not need to play the game to Create content or talk in the discord.
You could always go buy a Genesis NFT here: https://opensea.io/collection/polyverse-genesis-official There is 888 Genesis NFT's and they all sold out on the drop last year. But only 248 are currently staked so that means there are roughly 640 out there just wanting you to buy them
If you do own a Genesis NFT here is what you can do (also including everything listed above)
Stake your NFT NOW! The longer it is staked the more $PATIC you will receive when the allocation for Stakers is paid out.
Staking your NFT also gets your access to the Alpha game which means you get to join the Play2Earn contest as well and maybe earn even more $PATIC.
Guys, honestly it is like the Polyverse team is trying to give away as much $PATIC as they can and if you are not joining in on it, then you are missing out on free crypto. It makes no sense not to get involved even a little and earn crypto.
I have a lot of faith in this project and this game. I think it has the ability to be as crazy hyped as CryptoKitties was back in the day, or even Splinterlands on HIVE in it's prime.
