Longing for an echo
a buzzing willow
a single cicada strums
longs for an echo
My birch willow came alive awhile ago, well more alive than usual. It is a pretty busy place with birds and rustling limbs. A solitary cicada took up perch and began to sing his little green heart out in hopes of gaining a girlfriend and making baby cicadas. Not singing really, more like strumming. His rival staked his claim in the backyard, and fortunately it did not come to cicada fisticuffs. I await next years juveniles. I was reminded of my time in Japan where come summer, the dusk air was electric with all the would-be insect lotharios. Truly, it sounded as though one had tripped a live-wire. Too many musicians do indeed spoil the symphony. I mean how is a lady cicada to choose with all that racket going on. Choose she must, as evident by the sheer number of Hiroshima cicadas. Plentiful and noisy in the night.
Troise Sœurs, Harvested
trois sœurs, harvested
fruit of my endeavours carved
the skin of his teeth
Jack lit on fire, his smile saved
the limbs of next year’s ladies
We are months away from Halloween, but it was on my mind, as we sacrificed last years Jack O' Lantern to the fire pit and put in this years seeds. You will be glad to know that my three sister crop of beans, squash, and corn are doing very well. Pictures should be coming. Though right now it is all is the red blooms of the runner beans. Last year, they were scarce, but this year they seem to be dominating; the season is however very young with at least 2 more months to go. The squash and corn may catch up yet.
My Mind Meanders
the land, shapes and builds
my mind, meanders
Crowned
crowned dandelions
invading roars
white hairs lost
upon the wind, all
anxiety shed with seeds
worry replaced with hope
- May your anxiety leave you on the next breeze and see something splendid.
Aurora Seizes
slashes, the sky
with colour
wind abets her
crime
The first time one is able to see the Aurora in full color is a moment you won't forget. When you get to see it dance, your heart is stolen at least for the moment.

I endeavour to have them contain metaphoric meaning. The concepts are mine and rendering AI.
