Cursed, a frame splits dusk
forest hums gray
Frost binds light, no arcs flare to sway
Yet radiance clings
crimson threads purge air
Gaze spins cycles
earth cradles rare
Ice cracks, malice fades
glaciers roar free
Flame floods void
pulse carves a decree
"Our plasma throbs", hummingbird lull
Love's arc burns a shadow bow
Glare dies
moon unshrouds its reign
"Manipulation falls" light claws gain
Lumens sear space
earth wails delight
Core drinks grace
night's maze ignites
In a glowing nest imago Dei
a beacon stark
Liquid Fence
Her ocean whispered to mine,
"Has our border been defined—
a map-crafted name
to tell us where we reside?"
I said, "We are free
to be isolated or bosom-breathed,
our border a liquid fence
where we wave our hands."
In her heart stood a love level,
and when the level dipped low,
her body grew sick—
limbs ached, fingers cold.
Why the Lord would speak
through her body like a news press release
is beyond me,
but I’d rather find love at all costs,
let her live at ease.
She asked, "Am I standing too close?"
Her feet on mine,
her question trailing a kiss.
I said, in a roundabout way,
"It is too late."
For we met and morphed
as we dismissed.
My African guide,
ghost robe bitten by his teeth,
held back his floating frustration—
his body a dictionary of signs.
"Flee from the one
who senses your flight
and with anger pulls you down," he said.
"Be with the one
who senses you,
expedites your quest"
I had AI critique my writing and spent hours reviewing where I was repeating myself and blocking my growth. There seems to be an excellent use of AI as a poetic coach. No guarantees the quality will increase, but I felt the exercises I was prescribed will push me to be more cutting and concise and evoke timelessness. I would have never considered this if I didn't read works from the 1500s translated from the Latin. Anyone who has told you or taught you that Latin is a dead language and that there was a decline of intellect in the middle ages is full of the most putrid horseshit. Many scholars were publishing astonishing works and knowing Latin is one of the few ways to unlock that higher level of intellect and wisdom closest to its original form.
