My wife came across this article on Facebook - originally authored on the blog of Sydney Criminal Lawyers in November last year. I had to share hear as it has further reminded me how bad our PM is for the country, and that he is trying again to suppress free speech.

The Article is called Morrison Intensifies Campaign to Silence Australians In it, is an explanation of how Morrison is trying to legislate against secondary boycotts - like that is even possible.

A secondary boycott is when activists put pressure on one company, so it stops doing business with another. Significantly, this sort of activism resulted in financial institutions globally boycotting investment in Adani’s Carmichael coalmine, which saw the project dramatically scaled down.
“Environmental groups are targeting businesses and firms who provide goods or services to firms they don’t like,” Morrison told the old fossil fuel order. He even pointed to this form of activism as being a more “insidious threat than the street protests”.
The Liberal leader announced that he and attorney general Christian Porter are currently drafting legislation that would enable “these indulgent and selfish practices” to be outlawed. And later that same day on 3AW, he pointed to an existing ban that prevents secondary boycotts by unions.
To think that the government can legislate against someones right to boycott a company for any reason is ludicrous. That the leader of the country is even considering such nonsense shows he has a lot to hide. Those that try to silence protests are usually the one's with the most reason to. Pressuring companies through boycotts is an effective way individuals can make a difference.

The executive director of the Human Rights Law Centre, Hugh de Kretser, said the plan to crack down on boycotts was “deeply concerning”.
“Protest is an essential part of our democracy,” he said. “To protect our democracy and help ensure a better future for all Australians, governments should be strengthening our rights to come together and protest, not weakening them.”
If Australians continue to have our rights to protest infringed, and censorship goes unchecked, what type of totalitarian state will we end up in. It is time for Morrison to go, he has lost any respect from the Australian public, as has been seen in the way bushfire victims and firefighters have reacted to him.
Regardless of how you feel about the issues, allowing our rights to protest to be further degraded is a threat to our democracy.
Keep an eye out, Aussies, and don't let this government take any more of our rights away.
