Polar bears in the Russian arctic are moving into the island of Novaya Zemlya (which literally means New Earth) due to the ever decreasing sea ice. They need the sea ice in order to hunt seals. Without the ice, they cannot catch seals and go hungry being forced to swim in open water (losing energy in the process) to find food. On New Earth, there are garbage dumps. They are doing what they must do in order to survive.
