A Solution?!
Yesterday I went on and on about the government, how it should change, and maybe it's changing... maybe it's changing but it's changing so, SOOO, slowly that I can't see it change... It should be faster! But I can understand...
Even though things should change fast it takes time to change people's mentality! I actually have a couple of ideas to change the current system to a better one, but it would require a lot of hard work and time! And maybe it would fail, maybe it's a stupid idea, but it's better to give stupid ideas than to not give any ideas! Because complaining about something and not giving solutions is just stupidity in my opinion...
Look at STEEM, I see people complaining and crying about the current STEEM situation but not giving any solutions, any ideas! Nothing at all, they just want to complain and expect others to do the work for them! Bunch of whiny babies if you ask me... But I'm not here to talk about STEEM... I'm here to talk about a solution for the government, a better government, my idea of an ideal society...That might be a stupid idea...You can tell me if it is...Living and learning!
My ideal society would be one that used a decentralized voting system!
A decentralized voting system where a central government wouldn't be needed! All decisions would be voted for or against by the population! All finances would be voted for or against, all laws would be voted for or against, everything would be voted for or against by the population, not by politicians... The problem is people without any education and greedy people voting on the wrong things!
Do you know what would happen if this system was implemented? I don't, but I can take a guess... Less knowledgeable and greedy people would vote on what was best for them and that's it! Minimum wage at 600 bucks? Oh no that's too low, let's put this higher to 1200 bucks because why not?! Oh, the country is bankrupt, well, why?! Hur dur...
This is the problem I see with it! There are still way to many people with low levels of knowledge that have no clue about finances, politics, healthcare, technology, etc...! So maybe we should do something in the middle first!
Rather than letting the whole population vote on all issues we could only allow a selected population vote! Let's go with finances!
Every time a finance/economic college student got out of college he would be given a password that would allow him access to a voting platform to vote on the future finance system of his own country! Instead of having the centralized voting system that we have now, where a bunch of righties, lefties, democratic, republicans, etc... vote, the whole population that had knowledge about the issue would vote! Coming to a consensus! Two heads think better than one! Right?!
In healthcare the same thing! The doctors and medical practitioners would vote on the platform to divide the budget given by the economic platform in the different healthcare categories!
By now you must be thinking something like "They would just be greedy and try to get the best budget for their own hospital" they wouldn't! Do you think hospitals like to receive a half-dead patient in their own hospital because a rural hospital didn't have the "facilities" to take care of the problem?
People with knowledge and college experience would be ones in charge of their country! Each department of this decentralized system would speak to each other to see what to fix and what not to fix!
The tech department would have different divisions! Programming, renewable energies, mechanics, etc...
I'll give you an example of how the different departments would speak to each other...
In my country, hospitals still use Windows XP... yeah that outdated full of security problems bullshit Operation System! And most doctors don't care because they know nothing about tech... but there are some that do! If one of these doctors actually contacted the tech department in this decentralized system to update the whole OS of the hospitals it would be put to a vote!
If enough tech experts thought it was an essential step they would vote for and a new vote would start trying to determine how much of the budget they should spend and in what parts of the country they should start!
Yes, this might seem like it would take time... but guess what, in the current system decisions take months! Sometimes years! Because of all the infighting between the different political views! Because of all the drama in the parliament! It almost looks like I'm watching that real housewives show! Drama all around!
In this decentralized system there would be infighting too, but putting a time limit on each voting would make the whole thing smoother! Maybe people could vote to extend the time limit! If more than 51% voted for an increased time the time would extend!
This, in the end, would make the whole system smoother, more decentralized, and more corruption-resistant! Even if the system would end up being a little slower it would be corruption-resistant! Which in my country would mean a lot!
There is a problem though, or at least a problem for US citizens... student loans... yup, right now, in the US, people that want to get an education in finance, for example, need thousands of dollars or end up with a student loan the size of the sun! In this case getting the college education required to be part of the voting system would actually be hard... but I think that, in the long term, things would end up getting better.
We would probably see a shift in the US budget where the US would spend less money on military and more money on education, maybe even adopting the current EU system! In the EU, people that want to get an education pay very little for it! I pay 1.2k per college year! I think that is very affordable and something that the US should think about!
But with this change of lowering the military US budget and increasing the education budget, we would probably see many people furious because that would make "America weaker against the enemies"...
I'm still trying to understand who are these enemies?! If anything, nowadays, wars aren't fought in a battlefield, but behind a computer, behind a desk, behind a microscope, etc... the country with the most advanced tech and education is the one that will flourish!
Of course that, in the long LONG RUN, we would stop having this "country mentality" and start having a "world mentality"!
I kinda went on an idea rampage, just wanted to write and think about a solution! In my opinion, these are the best types of posts! It shows the writers mentality...
