With the moral decay in the world today, there is a lot of talk about the coming of the "Antichrist." This has been prophecized in the Bible, and ever since, Christians have been anticipating the arrival of the figure, labeling many individuals throughout history as the Antichrist: Adolph Hitler, Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton, Elon Musk… Are any of those figures the Antichrist, or is he/she yet to come? I don't think the Antichrist is or will be a person at all. If the Antichrist exists and is coming, it will be an egregore—and in fact, it may already be here.
First, what is the Antichrist? The Antichrist is an inversion of Jesus Christ. That is, he/she/it represents the opposite of Christ's values, namely the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth. They are viewed by Christianity as the worst sins to commit, which will condemn your soul to eternal damnation.
Christ did not commit any of these sins, so naturally the Antichrist would encapsulate all of them. It is difficult to find a single person who is the worst offender of all seven deadly sins. But when you view the Antichrist as an egregore, you can see all of them in the woke movement as a whole.
But wait, what is an egregore? Egregore, from the Greek grgoré, meaning to be awake or to watch, is an occult concept that refers to a non-physical entity that arises from the collective thoughts of a group of people. Egregores are created by a collective group mind that represents their common aspirations and ideals, but they become autonomous psychic entities that act on their own, seemingly controlling the behavior of humans and the destiny of culture.
Many have already called the woke phenomena an egregore. It started small and has snowballed over the past few decades, the woke movement growing larger, stronger, and more powerful, controlling individual human thought and the course of culture at large. The woke egregore is pushing culture in a certain direction, and that direction happens to also promote all of the seven deadly sins, which according to wokeness are “ackshully good.”
1. Greed is valorized, with wealth seen as the highest mark of status. Despite their Marxist virtue-signaling, look at how much money the BLM leaders rake in and how frivolously they spent it.
2. Lust is no longer seen as a sin. Divorce rates have skyrocketed, marriage is no longer sacred, homosexuality, pornography, and prostitution are all on the rise, promoted by the woke as normal.
3. Wrath is also condoned by the woke culture, as the woke are some of the most angry and self-righteous people on earth—but they see their wrath as “good” because it's directed toward what they perceive as evil. And what they perceive as evil happens to be traditional Christian values.
4. Envy - Is there anyone more envious than the woke? Wokeism is based on Marxism, which is entirely based on envy. The weak and poor are envious of those who have more and want to take from them. Rather than striving to uplift themselves, they want to take from those who are more successful.
5. Gluttony - The woke promote poor diets and valorize obese people as emblems of health. They promote fake processed foods and try to paint eating natural meat as unhealthy.
6. Sloth - Likewise sloth is also promoted, as they tried to paint going to the gym and bodybuilding as “fascist.” Wokeism is a culture of binge-watching, eating junk food, and taking prescription medication, rather than exercising and eating healthy.
7. Pride - Finally we have perhaps the most obvious of the Seven Deadly Sins promoted by the woke: pride. They literally have parades in the name of this deadly sin, devoting entire months to celebrating and worshipping the sin of pride. Pride was seen as the worst of the seven deadly sins, yet it is the one most cherished by the woke.
How is it that the woke movement just so happens to be perfectly aligned with the seven deadly sins? Meanwhile the woke abhor their opposite, the seven heavenly virtues: chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility. Is this all a coincidence? Or is the woke movement the work of an evil egregore, a sort of unconscious unembodied entity that is controlling human behavior? If the woke movement is an egregore, you might also call that entity a demon—or the Antichrist itself.
