In those long and empty moments in between the ones called fun.
Within those times less valued hides potentall to be won.
Not just because in contrast they highlight better times.
Within the simple nothingness there's hidden grateful signs.
Like waking up to sunlight having slept more than hours four.
To the sound of that Little Blue that I adore.
The last elusive coffee pod hiding in the draw.
The hurried goodbye kiss as they all scramble out the door.
Turning off the TV and the din that I abore.
Directly to the coffee gratefully I pour.
Then to the living room I lie down on the floor.
Surrounded by the clutter I postpone every chore.
Deciding that today I will ignore the lost decor.
Gift myself these hours to just relax and restore.
Take a scroll around Steem town find new post to explore.
Listen to suburbia it's monotony a bore.
Gratefully acknowledge it's the sound of peace not war.
Hear the squawking sound of the new born from next door.
Lovely as they are they are the toughest times for sure.
Feeling very lucky now that mine is almost four.
Remembering not long ago we had no spare time at all.
Use these empty hours read write scribble draw or snore.
Just breathing and just being tell my mind to stop the roar.
Redefine remember just what it is you're fighting for.
...and a reminder about the preaching I do about allowing yourself to be vulnerable.
Much of what I write is self directed, I think we all do that to a degree.
I ran into a friend the other day on my way home from an appointment. I was a bit upset. I don't usually let people see that side of things. I suppose people assume you are all good if you don't tell them. They can't read your mind. But there was no need to read minds, I was walking on my own and indulging an ugly cry in those few minutes before I got home. She came by last night with fresh home made soup, fresh vegetables a dozen eggs and hugs.
Gratefulness isn't always about success, it's uncovered in perspective not in circumstance.
I have used #popcontest here from @karenmckersie's long running Power of Positivity contest.
It is an initiative I have long admired.
Check it out.
