Portland, what a town. Beautiful place. Supper nice people, except for the brownshirt anti-fascists. Downtown has some great shops and tourist areas, so long as you don't go near the mobs of lawless thugs. The crime statistics are very low ... well, in part, because the city leadership cowers and does not enforce laws broken by the rapid militant youth. There have been only a few sightings of human feces on the streets, so it cannot really compete with San Francisco just yet. Give it a year or two.
