Before the judging...
If you have the chance, listen to John Henrik Clark.
I think that it is important to understand where the three major religions came from and what people those religions were stolen/borrowed from. The Egyptians had a very different take on religion. From what I understand, it was a holistic understanding of how the universe worked versus the other religions of the world that do there best to lock people into a slave mentality.
It never made sense to me how a white man could hide among a people who were black and go unnoticed for all those years that he grow up. Although, maybe he stayed in a cave and never went out for anything, not even to eat and drink.
I once sat down and started to read the christian bible. I was horrified. Every chapter that I read was like, God: "Go kill people because of x reason; The People: "Of course, God. We will kill everyone and anyone for you in your name and take no responsibility for our actions because you told us to do it." How many people still use this as an excuse to get rid of people they deem as evil? A lot still do.
Something I find terribly funny is that christians have been claiming that Jesus would be coming back to save the human race from whatever disaster. Has it happened? Here is the list of things Jesus has done during this recent crisis -->
Wow. A whole lot of nothing, not one thing. He hasn't come this time or any other time in history but christians will go on claiming that he is coming. Maybe this event isn't big enough. Hey, while you're waiting on this Jesus dude, I have a magic bridge that will take you anywhere you wish to walk to for sale. Contact me for details.
One of the best books I've ever read was The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine. It put into words what I'd thought about but never expressed. It exposes the bible for the fraud that it is. It was wonderful.
Thankfully, when I was young, we didn't go to church religiously so I didn't have tons of indoctrination to work through. Besides, I wasn't for that crap back then. It was so boring sitting there in church listening to some dude that claimed he talked to God telling us, the flock, the message he had for us.
Why do we need middlemen? Why can we not just talk to God ourselves? Because then people would interpret things in many different ways and those in control can't have free thinkers. That is bad for business. Give your money and shut your mouth. God, a.k.a. the pastor, knows what is best for you.
Now, don't get me wrong. I do not believe there is a source from where we all stem from. It is a fact to me. Belief is the first step to knowing whether something is true or not. Most people never move past belief. We all come from somewhere and we are apart of it all without being the all.
The best name I have heard for it, this "God," is the ALL, which comes from the Hermetic teachings.
Anyway, these are my thoughts. Take some/all and/or leave some/all. 🙃
