This entry is about one of the paranormal investigations that I went on within the last 4 months. I'm part of a small local group of investigators and we have yet to choose a name. We've been to a couple of locations around Coos County and seem to get the best responses from Sunset Memorial.
On this particular occasion, my daughter, my friend (NAME WITHHELD), an myself decided a small group was best. We didn't bring an EMF (Electro Magnetic Field) detector with us. We brought our Talk Box and a 360 degree recorder to track any sounds we are unable to hear with the naked ear. A Talk Box is simply a device that allows energy to be transmitted to English language via it's "dictionary mode" setting. I understand how this can be considered useless, but wait until you hear what came out of it before you dismiss this equipment.
I realize now that bringing a small child along on one of these trips isn't something most would do. I figured that if we weren't doing anything disrespectful or disruptive, we'd be okay and we could wonder around without an issue. After all, we were walking around the headstones, avoiding standing directly on top of graves, and were asking polite questions to who or whatever wanted to provide answers.
I parked my car up at the mausoleum, making sure to leave room for those that were going to have a visit of their own. My friend and I got out of the car, making sure to get our equipment and my daughter situated and ready for the adventure. (NAME WITHHELD), my daughter, was in her stroller, (FRIEND)was holding the notepad and recorder, and I was in charge of holding the Talk Box. On our last hunt, I was the designated Talk Box worker, as it seemed to have great responses while in my hands.
We walked around to the left side of the building, making sure everything was on and recording. (DAUGHTER)was happy to be outside and she looked around eagerly, having never been out there before. We came up to the edge of the building and the box said, "Left." That would have taken us down the hill toward a steep incline that (FRIEND) couldn’t go down due to a surgery she had. I said in response,"Nah, we're going to go right for now." My friend took notes and we went to the right, following that side of the building.
We passed under some powerlines and then stood in the spot that we broke out the spiritboard last time. This is also where the box was speaking specifically to (FRIEND) on our last hunt. It called her name, described what she was wearing, all sorts of crazy things. The box said "Back" as I walked over the area and almost left to go down a different hill. I said, "Back? Okay." We did a bit of a circle around the patch of ground we had been standing on, then left toward the old crematorium.
The box became vocal again, but this time it was telling me "Shoe". When I looked down, my laces were untied and I was about to trip. I quickly tied them and told the voice thank you. The spot that we were standing in was where we had heard "Smolder, fire, burning" from the box during our last session. I wasn't surprised to have gotten another message here.
We walked along for another 2 minutes in silence, then the box said "String", only to have me look down and see a string tied to the wheel of my daughter's stroller. Pulling it off, I said thank you once more and we continued to walk toward the infant section of the graveyard. Here's where it gets a little freaky.
We walk between two trees, the one of the right covered in windchimes, the one of the left had only one hanging. The box says, "Malevolent." I immediately have tears welling up in my eyes, my stomach drops, and I hear (FRIEND)gasp. Normally, I'd continue, but my girl is top priority. We book it up the path toward the mausoleum and get the sage and holy water out. I flicked the switch for the talk box and made sure it was off. (FRIEND)hurriedly placed our equipment in the bag it belonged inside of and stowed it in the trunk.
While she was back there, (DAUGHTER)'s stroller was facing her. She was going to close the trunk and (DAUGHTER)'s focus snapped to right behind her, like she had seen something move quickly. All of a sudden, a bottle flies out of the trunk of my car and tumbles to the ground. This shouldn’t have happened, as these were in a case in the very back of the trunk and we weren't parked in a way they could have rolled out. My daughter started saying the phrase "He Knows" over and over. She wasn't even 2 at the time and had never said this before.
We all got into the car, I made sure (DAUGHTER) was fastened in securely and (FRIEND) began saging the interior, included us occupants. We again told the thing it was not welcome to tag along and it had to stay behind. As soon as we finished telling it to leave and saging, (DAUGHTER) stopped talking, but she had this strange look on her face. We just needed to get off of the property and get home.
I took (FRIEND) home and then drove out to my house here in (WITHHELD). We did our normal routine before bedtime and then I tucked (DAUGHTER) in, getting cozy myself and laying down for sleep. Just before falling asleep, my daughter started growling in her crib. This was another thing she'd never done before. It wasn't just a growl though, she was saying "Die, Die, Die!" Over and over again, she would repeat it. I recorded a video and sent it to (FRIEND), just to get some kind of proof this was really happening. I saged my room, spoke a blessing, and prayed to my God and Goddess while I held her in my arms. She stopped.
Moral of this journal entry: Do not take children out to a graveyard for an extended period of time. They are more sensitive than us adults and other things can have influences you wouldn’t expect. Please be wary of the unknowns when children are involved.
