Life really is full of wonders. Unexpected things may come across our way which would either make or break our day. For someone who cares too much to give up the peace and comfort of home, I rarely step outside the shell. However, for some important matters, I was left with no choice but to travel and stay for two days at the city.
I am not particularly fond of the city noise, the hassle of travelling in the middle of the bustlin' city streets, nor of its polluted stinky air. For that reason, I didn't expected much in my 2nd stay there. I never expected to encounter such fantastic and loving event on this day. After getting some groceries, my friend and I were heading to the apartment we're staying for two nights, when we stumbled upon a bunch of paintings displayed right at the center of the shopping mall. I mean, who would expect to have a little art gallery-ish experience right in JMall, Mandaue, Cebu City.
The paintings were put up for sale. My friend and I who are both in love with art were very excited to scan the paintings. I could feel my heart beating faster than normal. My feet lifting an inch off the ground as if I'm about to fly. And I thought in my mind, if someone ever takes me out to a date in an art museum, I will definitely fall hardly in love to that person. Who would not?! Wouldn't it be one of the most romantic dates~
I could even feel myself getting a little emotional while staring at the paintings in front of us, especially at these two. I don't know why, but it just spoke deeply to my soul. I fell in love with it, that I'm tearing up writing this line.
It's called "He Makes All Things Beautiful" & "Psalm 111:3" both painted by Maria Carmen Lee. These were made by oil paints. These two paintings were my most favorite paintings among everything. If I were a wealthy person, you'll probably see me spending more than much than the original price for these paintings. If I were to live an extravagant life, you'll see me visiting museums for life.
I also find it very interesting how one artist could possess varieties of style in making art. Like these two. These were painted by the same artist but in a complete different art style.
Aside from the oil paintings there were also mixed media paintings. The one in the middle particularly caught my eye. The fluidity in the painting evokes a certain comfort and emotions within me.
My friend and I talked about how we both desire to create in the same way, but could not do so since we're pretty broke of an artists haha. Fluid art is not really on the practical side because it requires quite a lot of paints in doing it, but I just know that the freedom artists would feel in doing it will be priceless.
Another painting I stared at a long time was this one. "CANVASPECTIVE I" by Daniel James Fernandez.
I find it quite a unique take on art. The way I see it, I think the artist painted in the perspective of the canvas—showing the audience who view the art how the canvas sees the artist while painting. The blurry vision, the visible strokes from the bristles of the paintbrush, and the blob of paints on the artist's palette.
Another beautiful piece is Michael Anjelo Dondoyano's "The Tale of Romance." It's an acrylic on canvas. The smoothness and the cleanliness of the piece are just some of the aspect which I really admired from it.
The way how the details are laid onto the surface of the canvas is meticulously done. I cannot imagine the kind of patience that the artist have in him.
Everything looked so beautiful, each filled with passion, dreams, and love for creativity. Being surrounded by art is something that I will be forever be grateful in this life.
I am so happy to discover my love for these things. And I will forever look up to the wonderful artists behind each masterpiece. Each artwork carries its own story. It's an open book waiting for someone to stop by and look at.
Every single artists who poured in creating these wonderful masterpiece deserves an applause for making the day of mere passerbys like me unforgettable.
It was truly a wonderful turn of events. We had a blast day examining each work from afar and close up. I have fun looking at the tiny details, the crusty texture of the paint on its surface. My heart was filled with colors which brightened the entire day.
Which are your personal favorites? Let's talk about it!
