Good day to you all here in the DIYhub community. It is so cool to be able to make an entry here today.
Many times things get damaged not that we are careless about them but fact that all these things do have their expiry time. So we would have no choice but to get a new one or have a repair.
I just returned to my former apartment where I resided when I was an undergraduate. But now on getting to the room, everything was already dusty and I had to do a lot of cleaning and I knew there would be some repairs.
I saw my wall socket had already burnt. I don’t know what went wrong. Someone already helped me remove it and left the wire alone.
I went to the store to get another wall socket and I bought other necessities too. This time I got my socket working in perfect condition again…
HOW I FIXED MY WALL SOCKET
- WALL SOCKET
- WIRE
- TOOL BOX; comprising different kinds of screwdrivers.
- ELECTRIC TESTER
- SCREWS
THE PROCESS
STEP 1: After making sure all the tools are ready, and the necessary materials needed to be replaced. I went to the general changeover to eject the fuse out of the connection, to avoid electric shock which might lead to death.
STEP 2: The next step was to check the former wire that got burnt and then open up a new and clean surface for it to have a perfect connection.
STEP 3: I got my wire and measured the amount needed for the adjustment. After that, I cut it and then connected it with the major wire to add some length for a better connection.
STEP 4: After that, I got the socket box fixed into the wall and nailed it to make it firm to the wall.
STEP 5: After the adjustment, I got the wall socket and my screwdriver, I placed the life wire (red color) where it should be located and the neutral wire(black color) too.
STEP 6: The job is almost done here, I got my star screwdriver and then placed the socket against the box, then got the screws to tighten them. It got firmer and has a better look here. I felt the work was completed.
FINAL STEP: I went to returned the electric fuse and switched the changeover to see if the connection was working fine. I tested it with my device charger and it worked perfectly fine... I was happy to have accomplished this…
Thanks so much for joining me as we fixed the wall socket together…
