Education is a very important thing for a person to have in life. Without education, it is certain that the direction and purpose of a person's life will be uncertain. Although there will be some of us who have different opinions on this matter, but I personally believe that education is one of the important needs for humans in living life in this world.
In the past, several education experts have defined the meaning of education, namely:
- According to Plato, education is something that can help the development of individuals from body and mind with something that can enable the achievement of a perfection.
- According to Edgar Dalle, education is a conscious effort made by the family, community and government through guidance, teaching, and training activities, which take place at school and outside school throughout life to prepare students to be able to play roles in various living environments. permanently for the future.
- According to Ibn Khaldun, education is the explanation of knowledge and skills and their various aspects in real work to obtain sustenance towards a more advanced society according to individual tendencies.
In simple terms, education can be a means for someone to avoid ignorance. The higher a person's education, the higher the knowledge he will get. Education can also be interpreted as a conscious and systematic effort to raise the standard of living for better progress.
Education can be obtained through formal and non-formal means. Formally, education can be obtained through programs that have been prepared previously, structured in official institutions, in departments or ministries of a country. While non-formal education can be obtained from human daily life, from various experiences, both experienced by themselves and from the experiences of others.
Education in other terms is the process of learning the knowledge, skills and habits of a group of people that are passed down from one generation to the next through teaching, training or research. Education can occur under the care or guidance of others or self-taught or self-study.
