I have been using noise.cash for quite some time. It's a kind of twitter clone that incentivises people throught BCH payments. I mainly use it to promote my Hive post to a public outside of Hive. After a while however, I have realized that most people I interacted with were on Hive as well. As a payment address I added a bitcoincash wallet that was generated by blocktrades. So each time I received a payment, the BCH was swaped to hive and added to my wallet. It was a great way to earn a bit hive like that.
In the last weeks, the free tips that the system distributes to active users were getting fewer and fewer. Many of my friends on noise.cash stopped being active because of that. Then out of nowhere, I saw more and more people mentioning noise.app. I first didn't pay much attention but then with even less activity and less return on noise.cash, I thought that maybe it is wanted that we make the move to noise.app. Communication is not existent on noise.cash. The official account hasn't made a post for over a month. So users have no idea what is going on... At the moment noise.app is only open for people with an invitation. When @katerinaramm shared her invite link, I decided to give it a try and I joined noise.app.
That's how noise.app is looking at the moment. It's a simple interface with few options. At the moment it looks not much different from noise.cash.
What I think about noise.app after a week using it
There are plenty of issues with the new platform and definitely a lot is lacking.
You can only interact with people following you
The biggest problem in my opinion is that you can see posts only of people that you are following and you can only comment on these posts if people follow you back. If you join the platform like me, your feed is empty and you can't grow organically. This means that you need to first find people outside of the platform...
You don't know who your friends are
So far there are 9 people following me but I have no idea who they are... That definitely bothers me because I could invite people to follow me that are actually already doing that.
What about monetisation
What I liked about noise.cash was the steady stream of income it generated. Since I transformed automatically everything into hive, I earned a not insubstantial amount of hive thanks to noise.cash. With noise.app, I have no idea how activity is rewarded. What I see however is that I get regular income from the platform. So there is monetisation but I have no clue what it is for.
So far money is coming in regularly from noise.app. Considering that I have only 9 followers it's actually quite nice
Building up my network again
Noise.cash allowed me to put backlinks outside of the hive ecosystem. It allows me to spread news about hive in another place and community. I want to continue doing that and therefore I will try to rebuild my network on noise.app. I had 1200 followers on noise.cash and in a way I'm not looking forward to start from zero again. But hey, we are in the crypto world where things come and go and where you have to be flexible. So if you have already an account on noise.app, I'd love to build a relationship there with you. My noise.app handle is: https://noise.app/achim03
If you want to join noise.app, I give you here my invite link https://noise.app/invite/znkyqopq which is valid for 7 days and is open for maximum 15 people.
Let's connect ! You can find me on these platforms:
