For a community to live in peace and harmony positive decisions and law are important. Laws are put in place to create orderliness within the society, these laws do not exempt both our neighborhood and community.
There is this popular saying that "where there is no law there is no crime". In an organized community, laws are made and are an important tool that is needed in guiding every inhabitant of the community. Imagine a neighborhood or community where there is no law, such a place will be devoid of all orderliness.

I live in a community where both indigene and non-indigene are accommodated in peace and with love. The laws being made make every one of us to live in peace and harmony.
While Growing up, I grew up in a community that has various laws and it's compulsory for every inhabitant to abide by does law.
One of the rules in my community is that all landlords must attend the weekly community meeting which is held every Saturday. It was mandated for every landlord to be present. In this meeting, they discuss about ways they can develop the community. If any landlord will be absent there must be prior notice ahead of time.

Another law that was put in place is that every household must pay security fee, which is used to employ security men who guide the community at night. I remember a particular time when one of our neighbors refused to pay the security fee, he was always saying he wouldn't pay the money because he believed his household was safe and no one could rob him. But he received the shock of his life when thieves came to rob him in the night, he was screaming for help but no one was bold enough to rescue him. everyone is scared of thieves. He was beaten mercilessly and hardly can we recognize him the following day because of His swollen face. He learned the hard way. Ever since then, he has always been paying the security fee.
Recently, an issue arose when the farmers started complaining about animals such as goats and fowl destroying their crops. Most people rearing animals within the community practice free range where animals roam about to feed on their own. These animals have done severe damage to crops, the worst of the animals are goats, they are very destructive and stubborn.

The funniest of all is that of a neighbor of mine, who sells bread in front of the house, she left the bread carelessly outside forgetting that goat might eat them. Before she could come back to check the state of the bread. The goats have eaten 7 out of 8 breads that were displayed outside for sale. It was a big disaster for her. Due to many complaints relating to this, Decisions were made to stop the practice of free range. All who reared animals either goat or fowl were mandated to cage their animals
Lastly, My community gate is always closed at 10:30 pm and always opens at 5 am. It's law not to enter the community late. This law was put in place as a safety measure to curb the act of armed robbery within the community.
These laws and many more have brought peace and orderliness to my community.
