Sometimes I wonder if the process of introduction/ term introduction never existed, what will you do at first when you meet someone or you are in an environment that’s totally new to you. How will we cope? Would the world be in chaos?? How would dates be? Hmmm really don’t want to imagine it. But then again, I find myself in a civil world and courtesy demands that I do so “Courtesy and its demand LOLS”.
WHO AM I?
Some call me a miracle baby, others will say you made mummy take several PCV13 injections for her to recoup. My birth was that of a miracle and it brought joy and peace to both sides (my dad and mum) admits the hostilities, first among two sets of twins so you can see I paved the way for a double bundle of joy. Sometimes I wish I had come with a pair so we twin together in everything we do cause my sibling is always putting it in my face with their escaped as they twin together, Iyamu AI is my name but @readthisplease calls me OG, not Original Gangster as it’s mostly referenced but a short form of my name only if you really can’t pronounce it……are you wondering what it is, try to take a wild guess! Did you? Stick around you eventually find out. I am 6ft 6 inches in height am sure you are likely to say his favourite sport is basketball. Yes, my favourite sport is basketball, I support the LA leakers. When I play in court I usually play the big man not because I like the position but when you play with 5ft you automatically be the big man 😅. A Nigerian by birth and also from the southern part of the country a place called Edo State, a state where the famous Benin Kingdom is located. You would have guessed that am Bini by tribe! Yes, you are right, I come from a small tribe where each child given birth is regarded as royalty. With a rich cultural heritage compared to none and its diversity makes me proud, some articles will say “there are only two kingdoms in the world- The United Kingdom and The Bini Kingdom”. The reason why they always compare us to that of the United Kingdom is that at the arrival of the colonial masters they met a well-structured metropolis that was linked to that of the United Kingdom.
MY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Graduated from university with a bachelor in computer science and mathematics, bagged some experience in technology space in the area of User Interface and User experience design from volunteering in building a landing page and web base application during time as a freelance. Am eager to learn because I was taught when you stop learning you don’t improve so when I see something new and I know I would benefit from it, I put myself to it. Got my first job as a draughtsman at a startup Extra Low Voltage Company in which I actively participated in designing Communication systems, Environmental Surveillance systems, Public address systems etc for both residential and hospitality projects. Few months into the job I was promoted to the position of a system integrator for the company in which we delivered as a team the first-ever Marriott International Hotel in Nigeria which is located in Lagos State, Ikeja.
For these few years I have spent in this space I have impacted people/organizations positively, project site meetings are always my favourite cause you are in amidst persons who have been in the field for long and most-times am the youngest. Most times they mistake me for being an intern.
MY OFFICE LIFE
Working 9 to 5 was everybody’s dream back in high school in that light I finished college, bagged a bachelor in computer science which was a four-year course which Nigerian Lecturers can stress the living hell out of you from writing of short Java program to calculus etc…those days can really be stressful or you falling for a sweetheart ❤️ and then you realize she’s falling for another lols….. I found myself in this situation, Mehn University days were best tho……… if not for assignments and lectures. In search of my 9 to 5 job I relocated from Benin to Lagos got an offer to work for a company which is situated in the heart of Ikoyi Lagos, Nigeria. I have never been so stressed in my life, a journey that won’t take up to thirty minutes of your time but then again Lagos traffic will say otherwise. It’s a morning ritual to check my map how long it’s going to take me to get to my office in other for me to meet up with the resumption time, Lagos traffic can really humble you even if you are running late to catch a flight or a meeting. So it’s a default setting in every Lagosian that if you have a meeting slated for 8:30 am you should be on the road by 5:30 am in the morning, I know you will be thinking why that early. Yes, it has to be that early so you don’t be on the wrong side of Lagos traffic, there was a day I left home later than this time I found myself having breakfast and lunch in traffic. Back to my office life sorry for digressing so I get to my office at 7:00 am at most feeling tired after long hours in traffic but still optimistic about the day check what's making the headline after that have a look at today’s crypto chart if am in a loss or making profit but most days when am in a loss it’s already a sad day for me then my boss walks in sighting me he’s trying to pronounce my name which is IYAMU AGAHMIENOGHOGHO IYANUOLUWA which I abbreviated to IYAMU AI, fortunately for him he still can’t get it right after series of lessons from me. The harder he tries the more he fails and this cracks me up, oops I think I have exhausted the allowed letters stick around I will be making posts on my personal life living in Lagos, on Cryptocurrency and cloud computing.
