Hi everyone,
This wasn't really a planned trip. My wife and I were just bored one morning, so we looked at Google Maps and picked something random. Curug Lembah Pelangi came up, and we thought, “why not?” The name sounded interesting - like there would be a rainbow there or something. We packed up and set off.
• 🚗 Short Ride, Big Reward
The waterfall is located at CMV9+X78, Curug Lembah Pelangi, Jatake, Cimanggu 1, Cibungbulang, Bogor... The journey from central Bogor is smooth and relaxing as you pass through green surroundings and small rural roads.
I only paid around $0.60 to get in, and for the parking, it was about $0.60 for cars and $0.30 for motorbikes. Pretty cheap, right? If you are looking for an affordable way to enjoy nature, this place is worth a visit...
• 🌿 Down the Trail, Into the Forest
As my wife and I walked down the forest path, we felt surrounded by calm... Along the way, we saw a sweet message carved onto a tree that said:
“Kapan kamu ada waktu kita lihat Curug Lembah Pelangi”🌈🤩
Which loosely translates to: “When do you have time? Let’s visit Curug Lembah Pelangi.”
That little touch made the journey feel more personal and welcoming.
• 💦 Three Waterfalls in One Place
The sound of rushing water got louder as we approached, and then—there it was... Beautiful, clear, and powerful 🤩.
What’s special about Curug Lembah Pelangi is that it doesn’t only have one waterfall—but three streams falling across the cliffs.
Each has its own personality: one is wide and gentle, another is narrow and fast, and the third runs down between mossy rocks. We explored all three, slowly, with no rush—just soaking in the moment.
• 🧗 Waterfall Rock Climbing? Yes, It’s Real!
There’s a rock climbing spot right beside the main waterfall. It’s a vertical path where visitors can climb while water rushes nearby. Pretty epic, right?
But you’ll need to book in advance. The cost is around $4.20, which includes safety gear and a certified guide... I didn’t try it this time, but I did watch a group attempt it—it looked both thrilling and refreshing!
• 🛖 Gazebo with a Perfect View
We took a break at a wooden gazebo facing the main waterfall... It was the perfect place to relax, breathe, and just be present. No phones, no stress—just water sounds and forest air...
These are the kind of moments you don’t get from crowded tourist spots.
• 📸 Natural Photo Spots Without the Noise
If you love taking pictures, Curug Lembah Pelangi offers plenty of great angles. The best part? They feel honest and untouched. No forced “Instagram spots,” just wooden trails, greenery, and real light.
• 📝 A Gentle Reminder from Nature
This trip reminded me that we don’t always need to go far to find peace. You don’t need plane tickets or hotel bookings—just a bit of time, a full tank , and the desire to reconnect with nature.
If you live around Jabodetabek or plan to visit Bogor, add Curug Lembah Pelangi to your list. Go with someone you love—or go alone if that’s what your soul needs. You’ll leave lighter, calmer , and probably smiling....
Thank you for joining me on this short adventure. If you’ve been to a hidden waterfall like this or know another off-the-beaten-path spot , share it in the comments below—I’d love to hear your stories...!
See you in the next post 🌍✨
