When I think about what the future will be like, a few expectations from 20th-century people about our current reality quickly come to mind. Movies and literature have tackled this subject, perhaps because trying to predict the future is part of human curiosity; we have this need to guess.
In the movie Back to the Future II, the year 2015 is portrayed as having technological advancements that we still haven't achieved even in 2024: flying cars and hoverboards, clothes that adjust to the body automatically—these are examples of how far off we were back then, and even now technology still has a long way to go before we can fly in our cars.

Personally, I’ve never really thought much about what the world will be like in 26 years. Honestly, I don’t feel anxious about it, and I view our current reality somewhat pessimistically. There are many wars happening right now, with lots of people in power trying to force their truths down humanity's throat. But if I could talk about my dream for 2050, I’d say I hope it’s a much more peaceful place to live.
I see cryptocurrencies as the main currency for exchanging services and products. I envision our understanding of the universe becoming clearer, with many more answers than we have today. I also hope we reach 2050 without experiencing a third world war, with cures for cancer and AIDS already discovered, and that hunger no longer exists anywhere on the planet. Another thing I envision for the future, which stands out the most in my "mental screen," is that technology and nature will collaborate with each other, both working together to help humanity live better. That sounds a bit too optimistic, doesn’t it? But it’s hard to think about the future without infusing a bit of my wishes into it.

On the other hand, I think technological advancements might further distance people from each other, which is already happening. If today social media addiction makes people more individualistic and lonely, by 2050 it could be much worse, as I believe it will be common to talk to holograms and even hang out with them, whether they are real people or AI. I think it will be possible to create a holographic body for an AI and build a friendship with it. That feels pretty scary to me, but I genuinely believe it could happen.

By my calculations, if I’m still alive and haven’t been abducted, I’ll be 56 in 2050. I hope to have a comfortable life close to nature, with my husband by my side and a Tesla robot helping with household chores. I hope to have written a few books and that my daughter is doing well, building her life. I hope technology has improved the lives of everyone in the world by 100%. Who knows, when I get there, maybe I’ll revisit this post and compare reality with what I expected?

Quando penso em como será o futuro, rapidamente me vem à mente algumas expectativas que pessoas do século 20 tinham de como seria a realidade atual. As produções cinematográficas e literárias também abordaram esse assunto, talvez porque tentar prever o futuro faça parte da curiosidade humana, temos essa necessidade de tentar adivinhar.
No filme De Volta para o Futuro II, o ano 2015 é representado como tendo avanços tecnológicos do qual ainda não conseguimos alcançar mesmo em 2024: carros e skates voadores, roupas que se ajustam ao corpo automaticamente, são exemplos do quanto estávamos distantes naquela época, e que mesmo agora a tecnologia ainda tem um longo caminho a percorrer até que seja possível podermos voar em nossos carros.
Embora tenhamos isso aqui, o que já é bem legal:
Eu particularmente nunca parei pra pensar muito em como estará o mundo daqui a 26 anos, pois sinceramente, não tenho ansiedade quanto isso, e vejo a realidade que vivemos um pouco de forma pessimista. Há muitas guerras acontecendo nesse exato momento, muitas pessoas no poder querendo empurrar suas verdades goela a baixo na garganta da humanidade. Mas, se pudesse falar sobre qual o meu sonho pra 2050, diria que gostaria que fosse um lugar muito mais tranquilo de se viver.
Vejo as criptomoedas como a principal moeda de troca por serviços e produtos. Vejo o conhecimento sobre o universo como algo mais claro, teremos muito mais respostas do que temos hoje. Também gostaria que chegássemos a 2050 sem passar por uma terceira guerra mundial, com a cura do câncer e Aids já descobertas, e que a fome não existisse mais em nenhum lugar do planeta. Outra coisa que projeto para o futuro, e que eu diria que é o que mais aparece na minha ‘’tela mental’’, é que a tecnologia e natureza colaborariam uma com a outra, ambas funcionando em conjunto para ajudar a humanidade a ter uma vida melhor. Isso parece otimista demais não é? É que não tem como pensar no futuro sem colocar um pouco do meu desejo nisso.
Por outro lado, penso que os avanços tecnológicos podem fazer as pessoas se distanciar mais ainda umas das outras, que é o que já acontece. Se hoje em dia o vício em redes sociais faz as pessoas se tornarem cada vez mais individualistas e solitárias, em 2050 isso pode ser muito pior, pois acredito que será comum conversar com hologramas, sair com hologramas, tanto de pessoas que existem de verdade quantos de IA. Penso que será possível criar um corpo holográfico pra uma IA e construir uma amizade com ela. Isso para mim parece muito assustador, mas realmente acredito na possibilidade.
Pelas minhas contas, se eu ainda estiver viva, e nem tiver sido abduzida, em 2050 estarei com 56 anos. Espero ter uma vida confortável perto da natureza, com meu esposo ao meu lado, e um robô tesla nos ajudando nos afazeres de casa. Espero ter escrito alguns livros e que minha filha esteja bem e saudável construindo sua vida. Espero que a tecnologia seja algo que tenha melhorado 100% a vida de todas as pessoas no mundo. Quem sabe quando chegar lá, eu revisite esse post e possa comparar a realidade com o que eu esperava?
