Hey beautiful people, how are you all doing? It’s freezing here in my country—what about yours? It’s been a while since I last wrote a blog, and I’ve truly missed this platform. Life’s been hectic, but I finally found the time to share something special with you all.
Today, I’m bringing you a simple yet heartfelt piece of art that means a lot to me. The inspiration behind it came from a very emotional place. As a university student living in a hostel, I often find myself missing home deeply. Last night, around 2 a.m., when homesickness hit me hard, I decided to channel my emotions into creating something meaningful—a little house, crafted as a tribute to my own home.
Material Used
- Ice cream sticks
- UHU (glue)
- Poster colors
- Brush
- A rubber band (to tie)
First Step
To start, I placed two ice cream sticks vertically, facing each other, with a small gap in between. Then, I added two horizontal sticks at the top and bottom of the vertical ones, gluing them securely to create a sturdy, box-like structure. This base is the foundation for the rest of the project.
Second Step
Next, I created the roof of the house. For this, I used two ice cream sticks, positioning them in a crossed manner to form a classic rooftop shape. Once they were perfectly aligned, I glued them together and attached them to the top of the structure. The result resembled a charming little rooftop cottage.
Third Step
It was time to craft a window! I used two cotton buds, cutting off their tips to make the sticks even in length. I arranged them in a cross pattern, one stick vertically and the other horizontally, to create a tiny window. This added a realistic touch to the house.
Fourth Step
For a functional twist, I decided to turn this house into a key holder. I cut two ice cream sticks into small pieces and glued them together in a counter-way design to form a holder. It was a creative yet practical addition to my little house.
Fifth Step
Finally, I brought everything to life with vibrant colors! The rooftop and key holder were painted in a nude black shade, while the middle portion of the house was adorned with a soft pink color. The combination of colors gave the house an aesthetic appeal and truly enhanced its beauty.
At first i coloured the top with purple colour later chnaged it with black, ehich turned out to be super cool. Then i attached a rubber to hang it on the wall 🧱
Final Look
Here’s the final look! Look how beautiful and useful it is .
This project holds so much sentimental value for me, and I hope you find it as heartwarming as I do. If you enjoyed this blog, don’t forget to leave a comment and check out the video I’ve shared. I’ll see you in my next post. Until then, goodbye!
