Hey guys and girls. Today’s episode is really special. I was on a call with my friends the whole time and they enjoyed the whole journey with me. It’s about an hour long so buckle up.
- The first part of the post has the events that lead up to the point in this post.
- The middle part has the events in today’s episode.
- The last part has the video that helped me collect all the screen shots from. This is a 30 fps game so the screenshots are not HD or 4k. Enjoy.
Past Events
So, I finally beat Ludwig, the Accursed a second time. Needless to say, it’s a very difficult battle. So much so that this time I had exhausted my Insights. I had 21 insights(the currency to summon the NPC olek) and each time it would either of the 3 reasons to die:
- I would die before by summon because I played too aggressively.
- I would get crushed by the jump attacks
- the long sword of Ludwig in the second phase would end me in 3 shots.
Hence, I had to resort to farming them in the Chalice dungeons. Each boss I kill, I would get 2-3 insights. After 5 whole hours of farming in the dungeon, with the countless meme able deaths and failed attempts against the random enemies I made 31 insights! Along with the increase in my level. Here, in this second run. My level was 60 when I faced Ludwig. After the Dungeon running, I was at level 79. 19 levels, I didn’t like how far I had to upgrade just for this one boss.
After beating, I now had to talk with Ludwig. I remember the last time, I had to kill the head of Ludwig to get that moonlight sword. This time I chose a different reply when Ludwig asked, “Did my holy knight continued on the straight path I had sacrificed so much for?”. I said yes, he was content, and gave me the sword willingly. The next difficult place were the nuns on the upper level. 2 nuns, 1 ranged attacker and the other was a holy moonlight sword user. Tried many times and managed to die each time.
Because I knew that I would face lady Maria I wanted to go to another location. Finished the other stuff before coming for the dreadful lady.
This Game
My friends and I were on a discord call when we decided to go to the famed Cainhurst Castle. How to get there? Oh boy, I had to go through the Woodland, leading from the Hemwick Charnel lane. We all forgot the exact way to Cainhurst, so we relied on a video. First, I had to go to Iosefka’s clinic through the tricky Woodland forest, fetch the invitation letter of Cainhurst, go to a location where they would pick me up.
Journey
I spent an hour on the Woodland forest. It’s a friggin forest, a huge one at that, one wrong turn and you end up in a new area with new enemies. I followed the guide and reached the clinic.
The first thing I saw after I opened the door was a grey alien. I faced its kind once before too, their weakness is Fire. A well thrown molly should do the work if there should be multiple ones approaching.
This alien gave me my first blood vial of Iosefka. Don’t know what it would do, don’t plan on using it just like Adeline’s blood vial.
Just behind the alien was the summon to Cainhurst, my second objective was complete. Now, I just wanted to wander the place, look for potential loot… or bosses.
While roaming this ghastly environment, I found that it was eerily similar to the place where they first spawn you into the game. It was too huge to be a clinic, an abandoned mansion.
Containing a handful of grey aliens on gurneys and treasure chests. The whole place has a backstory that I don’t yet know.
I found a lady though, she was on top of a gurney. She had a generic dialogue with some new information about the place, she was twitching while she talked about seeing a beast of sort, that she was a chosen one. Turns out, this lady was Iosefka herself and killing her would give me an Umbilical cord. Didn’t need it because I was OP atm.
The Chariot
Next, I had to go to an area where I would be picked up. After a waste of 12 minutes, runnin’ here and there, looking for potential chariots near Yarhnam.
I reached near a black square that didn’t look like a stop for chariots near Hemwick Charnel. That is when the sick animation started. This was in the 20th minute of the video below. These dark souls games are something else, diamonds amid gems.
Horses that looked sturdy, came in black meaning they were for high priority people only.
No one in front of the chariot to guide the horses of their destination. The door slowly creaked open, none were inside. A mysterious force had welcomed me, a hunter of the night. This made me question if Count Dracula had something to here or not.
I pondered if I should get into the hard furniture before going back to the hunter’s dream once. The stepping in animation was classy if not daring.
Then comes the travelling animation.
The galloping horses steering through a road without a master, the weather changing from clear to an icy snow covered castle.
Don’t know how long it took to get here, the weary yet determined hunter climbs down the stairs.
Cainhurst Castle
The most amazing castle animation I’ve seen in games so far.
The enemies in the base level of the castle were the annoying mosquito 🦟 types. I always avoided them during the journey to Ludwig along the bloody river.
More enemy types inside the castle. There were women, weeping and asking for forgiveness from their lord. The ravens, hiding in plain sight. The enemies who are most dangerous are the ones whom you cannot see.
The enemy type that I found most intriguing are the Vampire bats. This enemy type has the ability to scream out sound waves, echos that trigger the Frenzy damage.
As I went further inside, I saw a huge library, books that were guarded by women who chanted some weird stuff. I came across this banquets hall. I thought that it was empty until I stepped inside, the whole place was filled with ravens, waiting for me advance. They charged me as soon as I breached their attacking radius.
This was it, the whole journey made my back hurt and had to keep it to a stop. Next, I go to the upper level where I might face the boss of the Castle.
Below Is The Whole Video Of The Adventure!
Till next time!
