"Aventura en Los Roques: Subiendo al Faro y Descubriendo el Paraíso"
Llegamos a Los Roques al medio día, después de un viaje de unas 5 horas o un poco más por mar, como les conté en un post anterior.
Almorzamos, nos refrescamos un poco esperando que mi esposo se recuperara y salimos a caminar, la meta era subir la elevación más alta de la pequeña isla y visitar el faro.
Dudamos un poco sobre si dejarlo para el día siguiente y quedarnos tranquilos esa noche... nooo, decidimos no perder tiempo y echarnos a andar, ninguno de nosotros fue a Los Roques a descansar.

We arrived in Los Roques at noon, after a trip of about 5 hours or a little more by sea, as I told you in another post.
We had lunch, freshened up a bit waiting for my husband to recover and went for a walk, the goal was to climb the highest elevation of the small island and visit the lighthouse.
We hesitated a bit on whether to leave it for the next day and stay quiet that night? nooo, we decided not to waste time and get going, none of us went to Los Roques to rest.
Efectivamente, el mejor momento del día para hacerlo es un poco antes del atardecer. Recorrimos las dos calles hasta que termina la zona habitada, luego se cruza una extensión de terreno que utilizan para hacer deportes y jugar y justo allí ya comienza el sendero que señala la subida.
Un cartel de alguna promoción de estudiantes de 5to año que recuperaron el sendero nos da la bienvenida, seguramente lo hicieron como proyecto de trabajo comunitario para graduarse, "bien hecho".
En un punto del recorrido hay una bifurcación, porque realmente no es un solo cerro, realmente se ven como tres, y en esta bifurcación uno de los caminos nos lleva a la cima más alta donde está el faro y el otro nos lleva al de al lado donde desde abajo se puede ver que hay una estatua de una virgen.

Indeed, the best time of the day to do so is a little before sunset. We walked along the two streets until the end of the inhabited area, then we crossed an extension of land used for sports and games and right there begins the path that marks the ascent.
A sign of a class of 5th year students who recovered the trail welcomes us, surely they did it as a community work project to graduate, "well done".
At one point of the trail there is a fork, because it is not really a single hill, you can actually see about three, and at this fork one of the paths takes us to the highest peak where the lighthouse is and the other takes us to the one next to it where from below you can see that there is a statue of a virgin.
Realmente no sé cuál es la altura de este cerro, montaña o colina más alto, pero es lo suficiente para poder apreciar la isla completa en todas las direcciones, aunque la isla es bastante pequeña. La vista desde aquí es hermosa, el arrecife, los cayos cercanos, las aves, la propia roca como tal, las lanchas, veleros y peñeros, todo lo que se ve desde aquí tiene un encanto muy especial.
Estuve muy emocionada de esta actividad, tal como una niña, hacía mucho tiempo de la última vez que fui , lo recordé todo tal cual y me sorprendí a mí misma de la energía que mantuve en toda la subida.

Hay una diferencia muy grande desde la última vez y es que pude observar un crecimiento en la población, me di cuenta desde esa altura que las construcciones de casas crecieron, hay por lo menos una calle más de las que tenía en la cuenta, se nota drásticamente que hay mucha más población, eso me preocupó.

I don't really know what the height of this highest ridge, mountain or hill is, but it is high enough to be able to appreciate the whole island in all directions, although the island is quite small. The view from here is beautiful, the reef, the nearby cays, the birds, the rock itself, the boats, sailboats, and fishing boats, everything you see from here has a very special charm.
I was very excited about this activity, just like a child, it was a long time since the last time I went, I remembered everything as it was and I surprised myself with the energy I kept all the way up.
There is a very big difference from the last time and I could observe a growth in the population, I noticed from that height that the construction of houses grew, there is at least one more street than I had in the account, it is drastically noticeable that there is much more population, that worried me.
Nuestro grupo en total éramos 6 personas, una de nuestras compañeras ha tenido muchos problemas en las piernas y estaba muy cautelosa en el recorrido porque tenía mucho temor, de hecho cuando estábamos bajando para regresar ella se cayó.
No fue una caída grave, pero si se deslizó algunos metros mi pobre amiga, pero seguimos adelante con un poco más de cuidado.
Lo que pasó fue que bajamos muy apresurados porque teníamos una cita con otras personas para cenar y no queríamos ser impuntuales, realmente nos habíamos entretenido mucho allá arriba mirando todo como atónitos y haciendo las sesiones fotográficas entre nosotros para el recuerdo.

We looked very funny because we were in a dynamic that when one of us came up with a shot for photos, all the rest of us repeated the scene. We had no problem with being such copycats, we all wanted to make the most of the landscape with everyone's creativity.
Among all of us, the one who came up with the most outstanding scenes was my cousin Hector, he has a good eye for these things, his genius made us take advantage of many frames that the rest of us had not noticed. We have to give him the credits.
There at the top we met a Youtuber, but we don't know his name, let's see: if anyone recognizes him from the photo, write me in the comments what his name is. He was shaving a local young man and was interviewing him while cutting his hair, or that was the impression he gave me. He and his crew traveled with us on the same boat we came to Gran Roque on, and they were sitting in the front row, so they told more than we did.
Nos veíamos muy graciosos porque estábamos en una dinámica de que cuando a uno se le ocurría una toma para fotos todos los demás repetíamos la escena. No teníamos problemas con ser tan copiones, todos queríamos aprovechar lo máximo del paisaje con la creatividad de todos.
Entre todos, al que se le ocurrían más escenas destacadas era a mi primo Héctor, tiene buen ojo para esas cosas, su genialidad nos hizo aprovechar muchos encuadres que los demás no habíamos notado. Hay que darle los créditos.
Allá en la cima nos encontramos con un Youtuber, pero no sabemos su nombre, a ver: si alguien lo reconoce por la foto escríbanme en los comentarios como es el nombre de aquel 👇🏼. Se dedicó a afeitar a un jóven del lugar y lo estaba entrevistando mientras le cortaba el cabello, o esa fue la impresión que me dió. El y su equipo viajaron con nosotros en la misma embarcación en la que llegamos al Gran Roque, y estaban sentados en la primera fila, así que vomitaron más que nosotros.

Está fue la primera tarde de nuestro viaje, con este paseo obligatorio para observar el atardecer desde el faro, la verdad que fue ideal hacerlo el primer día, porque lo que venía entonces era apreciar desde arriba todo cuanto teníamos por conocer los días siguientes.
