Las que me llevan al Parque Nacional Morrocoy

As I was born and raised in the west of the country, in Maracaibo, exactly, for my family it was very easy to visit the beaches of Falcon state, in that state, there are plenty of beaches, but our favorites were always those of Morrocoy.

Cómo yo nací y me crie en el occidente del país, en Maracaibo, exactamente, para mi familia era muy sencillo visitar las playas del estado Falcón, en ese estado abundan las playas, pero nuestras preferidas definitivamente siempre fueron las de Morrocoy.

I have beautiful memories with my parents and my sister camping in the keys and from this passion, I have always felt that I live to give that experience to my children. Let's see, come on, I failed in this objective, but it's not my fault, it's not easy to travel to faraway beaches with 4 children now that we live in Caracas, so it's been more than 6 years since we went to the Morrocoy Keys and that's why the time to go back was so special and that's why this post is so special.

Tengo recuerdos hermosos junto a mis padres y mi hermana acampando en los cayos y de esta pasión, siempre he sentido que vivo para darles esa experiencia a mis hijos. Si a ver, vamos, en este objetivo he fracasado, pero vamos, no es mi culpa, no está fácil viajar a playas lejanas con 4 hijos ahora que vivimos en Caracas, así que desde hacía más de 6 años que no íbamos a los cayos de Morrocoy y por eso, la hora de volver fue tan especial y por eso mismo es lo especial de este post.

It wasn't like before when we traveled with tents to camp or stayed in a hotel or posada, at least for a weekend, this time we decided to take an opportunity that we had literally in our way and we said, let's go to the beach.

No fue como antes que viajábamos con carpas para acampar o nos quedábamos en un hotel o posada, al menos por un fin de semana, esta vez decidimos tomar una oportunidad que teníamos literalmente en nuestro camino y dijimos, vamos a la playa.

Exactly, it was that in the middle of last year, we traveled to Maracaibo by land with the children, although we went on business, on the way back we decided to spend a night in Coro, the capital of Falcón, to leave very early and bathe on the beach before continuing on our way to Caracas.

Exactamente, se trató de que a mediados del año pasado viajamos a Maracaibo por tierra con los niños, aunque fuimos en asuntos de trabajo, de regreso decidimos pasar una noche en Coro, la capital de Falcón, para salir muy temprano y bañarnos en la playa antes de continuar el camino hacia Caracas.

Fortunately, one of the keys of the park is very close to the mainland and there is a bridge that connects them when you go from the west to the center by the coastal road you only have to enter the town of Tucacas, and in this case, you don't have to take a boat as you are used to, but simply cross the bridge, of course, you have to pay the entrance fee, and we did that at the beginning of the bridge itself.

Por fortuna, uno de los cayos del parque está muy cerca de tierra firme y existe un puente que los conecta, cuando vas vía desde occidente al centro por la carretera de la costa solo tienes que entrar al pueblo de Tucacas, y en este caso no es tomar una embarcación como más se acostumbra si no, simplemente pasar el puente, eso sí, previamente se debe pagar el impuesto o entrada al mismo y eso lo hicimos en el comienzo del mismo puente.

And here begins my great joy, you are already at sea, Punta Brava Key is a key like all the others, regardless of this connection with the land. The same fauna and flora, the same sand, and the same colors of the sea.

Y aquí comienza mi gran dicha, ya estás en el mar, el Cayo Punta Brava es un cayo como todos los otros, indiferentemente de esta conexión con tierra firme. La misma fauna y flora, la misma arena y los mismos colores del mar.

It is the place of my happiness, to be able to see my children bathing on the beach, playing with the sand and even chasing them to put sunscreen on them, it is all part of it.

Es el lugar de mi felicidad, poder ver a mis hijos bañándose en la playa, jugando con la arena e incluso perseguirlos para ponerles bloqueador solar, todo forma parte.

The stillness of the water on these beaches is my hook because I can be in the sea with tranquillity, finding peace, I can see my feet in the water, I can see fish passing close to me, and there is still coral and rich marine life, so you can snorkel and dive, on this trip, there was none of that because remember it was just a passing day of our trip.

La quietud del agua en estas playas es mi enganche porque puedo estar dentro del mar con tranquilidad, encontrando paz, puedo ver mis pies dentro del agua, puedo ver peces pasar cerca de mí, aún hay corales y una vida marina muy rica, así que se puede hacer snorkel y bucear, en este viaje no hubo nada de eso porque recuerden que solo fue un día de paso de nuestro viaje de Maracaibo a Caracas.

We looked into the possibility of eating a nice fried fish served on the seashore and yes we did and it was wonderful to see how my children ate their fish with pleasure, what am I going to do, all this gives me great pleasure as a mother, they are details that will stay with me forever, even when they have already left to make their independent lives.

Estudiamos la posibilidad de comer un rico pescado frito servido en la orilla del mar y si, lo hicimos y fue maravilloso ver como mis hijos se comían con mucho gusto su pescado. ¿Que voy a hacer?, todo esto me da un gran gusto como mamá, son detalles que se quedarán conmigo para siempre, aún cuando ellos ya hayan partido a hacer sus vidas independientes.

And here I reflect again on the importance of living these moments to the fullest, observing every detail, freezing in my mind every smile, feeling every ray of sunshine as I close my eyes and remember the moment, just as it is happening right now.

Y aquí vuelvo a reflexionar sobre la importancia de vivir plenamente estos momentos, observando cada detalle, congelando en mi mente cada sonrisa, sintiendo cada rayo de sol al cerrar los ojos y recordar el momento, así como sucedo justo ahora.
