Attack, Attack, Attack!
Melee attack creatures are once again the stars of this week's Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge, with the Melee Mayhem ruleset allowing melee cards to fight from any position, launching themselves into a wild charge against enemy lines.
The Melee Mayhem ruleset thus unlocks the full potential of melee creatures, removing their main limitation and enabling the creation of devastating new combos.
Fragile but powerful creatures can be safely deployed in the rear, allowing them to make the most out of their strength.
At the same time, abilities that reduce damage from these types of attacks, such as shield, can prove vital in protecting our ranks.
This doesn't mean, however, that we will only see cards with melee attacks on the battlefield... in fact, surprising your opponent with attacks of another type could be a way to hit them completely unprepared!
Let's move onto the battlefield!
Next, let's analyse a game played with this ruleset:
With the goal of catching my enemy off guard, my team relies on creatures with magic attacks as well as the flying ability, which protects them from the damage caused by the ruleset earthquake, but also decreases the chances of a melee attack hitting them.
My opponent focuses instead on melee creatures, relying mainly on Quora Towershead and the bonuses given to her by the many martyr abilities present on the battlefield.
At the beginning of the second turn all martyr abilities get triggered and the creatures still alive come out even stronger than before.
Quora Towershead, especially, terrorizes my team with her massive power... but the flying ability of Void Dragon proves to be my trump card.
Half of the enemy attacks miss, which gives my squad enough time to continue doing damage.
Not even Quora Towershead can sustain all this damage for too long and, during the fourth turn, Void Dragon hits her with a fatal attack, which ends the game.
MVP of the match
The role of MVP goes to Void Dragon, which with the flying ability manages to survive the enemy attacks until the end of the game, giving me the time to defeat all the enemy creatures.
Without his invaluable contribution, the game would definitely have been lost.

Although the Melee Mayhem ruleset greatly favours melee creatures, one should never underestimate the surprise effect, which could alone - together with a bit of luck - make the difference between victory and defeat.

Attacca, Attacca, Attacca!
Le creature con attacchi da mischia sono ancora una volta le protagoniste della Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge di questa settimana, con il ruleset Melee Mayhem che consente alle carte dotate di attacchi corpo a corpo di combattere da qualsiasi posizione, lanciandosi in una carica selvaggia contro le linee nemiche.
Il ruleset Melee Mayhem sblocca quindi il pieno potenziale delle creature da mischia, rimuovendo il loro principale limite e consentendo di creare nuove devastanti combo.
Creature fragili ma dotate di attacco elevato potranno essere schierate al sicuro nelle retrovie, potendo così sfruttare al meglio la loro forza.
Al contempo le abilità che riducono i danni subiti da questo tipo di attacchi, come shield, possono rivelarsi fondamentali per proteggere il nostro schieramento.
Ciò non vuol dire però che sul campo di battaglia vedremo solo carte con attacchi corpo a corpo... anzi, sorprendere l'avversario con attacchi di un altro tipo potrebbe essere un modo per colpirlo impreparato!
Spostiamoci sul Campo di Battaglia!
Passiamo allora ad analizzare una partita disputata con questa regola di gioco:
Proprio con l'obiettivo di cogliere di sorpresa il mio nemico, il mio team fa affidamento su creature dotate di attacchi magici, oltre all'abilità flying, che le protegge dai danni causati dal ruleset earthquake, ma diminuisce anche le chances che un attacco corpo a corpo possa colpirle.
Il mio avversario si concentra invece su creature corpo a copro, puntando principalmente su Quora Towershead e sui bonus a questa conferiti dalle numerose abilità martyr presenti sul campo di battaglia.
All'inizio del secondo turno tutte le abilità martyr vengono attivate e le creature ancora vive ne escono ancora più forti di prima.
Quora Towershead, in particolare, terrorizza il mio schieramento con la sua enorme potenza... ma l'abilità flying di Void Dragon si rivela la mia carta vincente.
Metà degli attacchi nemici non vanno a segno e ciò da alla mia squadra il tempo necessario per continuare a fare danni.
Neanche Quora Towershead può sostenere troppo a lungo tutti questi danni e, durante il quarto turno, Void Dragon la colpisce con un attacco fatale, che mette fine alla partita.
MVP della partita
Il ruolo di MVP spetta a Void Dragon, che con l'abilità flying riesce a sopravvivere agli attacchi nemici fino alla fine della partita, dandomi il tempo di sconfiggere tutte le creature avversarie.
Senza il suo prezioso contributo la partita sarebbe stata sicuramente persa.

Nonostante il ruleset Melee Mayhem avvantaggi molto le creature da mischia, non bisogna mai sottovalutare l'effetto sorpreso, che potrebbe da solo - insieme ad un po' di fortuna - fare la differenza tra la vittoria e la sconfitta.
