Best Game of the Day! And New Traits for My Developers
Here I am writing again about Rise of the Pixels, one of the Hive Games I am most active on these days.
Although the game's launch made less noise than I expected - despite the fact that the team of PeakD and PeakMonsters is behind it... and that sounds like no small feat to me! - I personally keep enjoying developing new projects, brainstorming titles, descriptions, and how to allocate the available points in an effort to create the best possible game.
And after a couple of months, my efforts have finally produced a result worthy of recognition: one of my games has in fact been awarded "Best Game of the day," i.e., the game with the highest rating score developed for that day!
The crown and the word "best" under the rating score indicate precisely this achievement, and besides giving you the satisfaction of having ruled the associated leaderboard for 24 hours, with this recognition you also get 5 bonus points in the end-of-season raffle.
Actually War for the Kingdom is not the best game I have ever developed, but it seems that on that day the competition was less tough than usual, so a 9.5 was enough to claim the title of Best Game of the Day.
In fact, if we were looking at the mere rating score, Fantasy RPGs would definitely be the category in which I would have expected to reach this small milestone, due to the presence of big hits such as Nocturia: The Vampire Empire and The Age of Dragons - which by the way well connects to the just released second season of House of the Dragon ahahah
I also have to say that these last two titles are much more inspired than the one that turned out to be the best title of the day... but the public is sovereign and who am I to dispute their tastes? 😂
New traits!
Moving on instead to the team responsible for these creations, as a result of developing a lot of games my developers and Designers have been continuously accumulating experience points, and this has resulted in my 3 rare characters unlocking new traits - one for each one.
Now whenever I develop a title that has point-and-click as its genre or medieval or racing as its theme, I get some small bonuses that can give me a few more advantages when developing new games.
Combining these traits with those of my Legendary Designer makes things even better, enabling my team to aim for even higher results.
The only shame is that, as I said at the beginning, the game is going a bit unnoticed: getting PXL is not easy and my earnings are very thin.
This means that getting back my initial investment will be a potentially very long process and, indeed, I may never even break even.
It's not that I'm worried - also because I've already recovered 85 Hive - but in the meantime this prevents me from buying new characters and accessories to further strengthen my team, so I sincerely hope that the game will soon be able to gain some more traction and bring in new users to compete for glory in the Pixelverse!

Miglior Gioco del Giorno! E Nuovi Tratti per i Miei Sviluppatori
Eccomi di nuovo a parlare di Rise of the Pixels, uno degli Hive Games su cui sono più attivo in questo periodo.
Nonostante il lancio del gioco abbia fatto meno rumore di quanto mi aspettassi - nonostante dietro ci sia il team di PeakD e PeakMonsters... e non mi sembra poco! - personalmente continuo a divertirmi nello sviluppare nuovi progetti, pensando a titoli, descrizioni e come ripartire i punti a disposizione nel tentativo di creare il miglior gioco possibile.
E dopo un paio di mesi, i miei sforzi hanno finalmente prodotto un risultato degno di riconoscimento: uno dei miei giochi ha infatti ottenuto il riconoscimento di "Best Game of the Day", ossia di gioco con il punteggio di rating più alto sviluppato per quel giorno!
La corona e la parola "best" sotto il punteggio di rating indicano proprio il raggiungimento di questo risultato e, oltre a darti la soddisfazione di aver dominato la relativa leaderboard per 24 ore, con questo riconoscimento si ottengono anche 5 punti bonus nella raffle di fine stagione.
In realtà War for the Kingdom non è il miglior gioco che abbia mai sviluppato, ma si vede che quel giorno la competizione era meno dura del solito, per cui un 9.5 è stato sufficiente per fregiarsi del titolo di Best Game of the Day.
Se infatti guardassimo al mero punteggio di rating, gli RPG fantasy sarebbero sicuramente la categoria in cui mi sarei aspettato di raggiungere questo piccolo traguardo, data la presenza di grandi successi come Nocturia: The Vampire Empire e The Age of Dragons - che tra l'altro ben si collega all'appena uscita seconda stagione di House of the Dragon ahahah
Devo anche dire che questi ultimi due titoli sono molto più ispirati di quello che è risultato essere il miglior titolo della giornata... ma il pubblico è sovrano e chi sono io per contestarne i gusti? 😂
Nuovi tratti!
Andando invece a parlare del team responsabile di queste creazioni, a furia di sviluppare giochi i miei Sviluppatori e Designers stanno continuando ad accumulare punti esperienza e questo ha portato i miei 3 personaggi rari a sbloccare dei nuovi tratti - uno per ciascuno.
Adesso ogni volta che sviluppo un titolo che abbia come genere quello dei punta e clicca o come tema quelli medioevale o racing ottengo dei piccoli bonus che possono darmi qualche ulteriore vantaggio nello sviluppo di nuovi giochi.
Combinando questi tratti con quelli del mio Designer leggendario le cose migliorano ancora e ciò consente al mio team di puntare ancora più in alto.
Peccato solo che, come dicevo in apertura, il gioco stia passando un po' inosservato: ottenere PXL non è facile ed i miei guadagni sono molto risicati.
Ciò significa che rientrare del mio investimento iniziale sarà un processo potenzialmente molto lungo e che, anzi, potrei anche non riuscire mai ad arrivare al punto di pareggio.
Non che sia preoccupato - anche perchè ho già recuperato 85 Hive - ma nel mentre questa situazione mi impedisce di acquistare nuovi personaggi ed accessori per potenziare ulteriormente il mio team, per cui spero sinceramente che il gioco riesca presto ad ottenere un po' più di trazione e portare nuovi utenti a competere per la gloria nel Pixelverse!
