My Max Level Chaos Legion Legendary Summoners are Holding Their Ground
One of the most painful decisions I ever had to make on Splinterlands was to sell most of my cards from the Chaos Legion set.
As everyone knows by now, this set has its hours.... well, months, actually, counted: in fact, when will be released the next big expansion, about which rumours have already begun, all the cards of the Chaos Legion set will no longer be playable in the Modern Format and will therefore most likely experience the same fate as all the cards of the other sets that can only be used in the Wild Format.
The latter format is less attractive to players, both because the rewards are lower and because the use of bots is allowed (which is the real reason why the rewards are lower).
These disadvantages to date have caused the decline in value of all the cards that have been excluded from the Modern Format and, fearing that history will repeat itself, it is precisely to avoid this that I have decided to get rid of the majority of my collection.
I have partly kept the proceeds to buy cards from the Rebellion set, and partly reused them to buy two cards from the Chaos Legion set...

Why this decision? Didn't I just say that I wanted to get rid of the cards from this set?
The truth is that, thanks to the experiences I have gained over the years, I have generally noticed how making drastic decisions only makes sense when you have a considerable awareness of what you are doing... and I, when it comes to investments, never have such awareness 😅
That's why I decided to take a more cautious approach and reinvested some of the funds into buying a set that yes, I fear may decline in value, but which at the same time guarantees, at least with certain cards, very good passive returns.
It has now been over a month since I bought these cards and in that time their yield on the market has always stayed around 20-30%.
Not only that, their value has also remained almost unchanged.
In fact, to be precise, right now the two cards I bought, Immortalis and Possibilus the Wise, are worth more than I paid for them.
A good deal?
When you look at it that way, it would seem that I have, for once, taken the right decision.
I paid $60 for these two cards, today they are worth more than $80, and meanwhile they have also generated me a few thousand DEC.
It all sounds beautiful, too beautiful 😂
The truth, in fact, is that this situation is not likely to last particularly long.
The rental income will only last as long as the Chaos Legion set remains in Modern Format.
And the value of the cards is fluctuating: today they are worth this much, but a few weeks ago the price was lower and I would therefore not be at all surprised if, with the end of Conflits and the influx of many more cards from the Rebellion set onto the market, the situation could get worse again.
However, at the moment I'm happy with the choices I've made and I hope I'll be able to seize in time the next time when I'll have to take some new action: the rare cards I've kept, for example, look almost ready to be sold... is it time to take another step towards a complete farewell to the Chaos Legion set?

I Miei Evocatori Chaos Legion di Massimo Livello Resistono
Una delle decisioni più sofferte che abbia mai dovuto prendere su Splinterlands è stata quella di vendere la maggior parte delle mie carte del set Chaos Legion.
Come ormai tutti sanno, questo set ha le ore... beh, i mesi, in realtà , contati: infatti, quando uscirà la prossima grande espansione, di cui si è già cominciato a parlare, tutte le carte del set Chaos Legion non saranno più utilizzabili nel Modern Format e subiranno, perciò, molto probabilmente, la stessa sorte di tutte le carte degli altri set che possono essere utilizzati solo nel Wild Format.
Quest'ultimo formato è meno appetibile per i giocatori, sia perchè le ricompense sono più basse, sia perchè è ammesso l'utilizzo di bot (che sono poi la vera causa per cui le ricompense sono inferiori).
Questi svantaggi ad oggi hanno causato la svalutazione di tutte le carte che sono state escluse dal Modern Format e, nel timore che la storia si ripeta, è proprio per evitare questo che ho deciso di liberarmi del grosso della mia collezione.
Il ricavato l'ho in parte conservato per acquistare carte del set Rebellion, in parte reimpiegato nell'acquisto di due carte del set Chaos Legion...

Qual è il senso di questa decisione? Non ho appena detto che volevo liberarmi delle carte di questo set?
La verità è che, grazie alle esperienze accumulate in questi anni, ho generalmente notato come prendere decisioni drastiche abbia senso solo quando si ha una notevole consapevolezza di ciò che si sta facendo... e io, quando si tratta di investimenti, non ho mai una tale consapevolezza 😅
Per questo motivo ho deciso di adottare un approccio più cauto e reinvestire parte dei fondi nell'acquisto di un set che sì, temo possa svalutarsi, ma che al contempo garantisce, almeno con alcune carte, delle ottime rendite passive.
Ormai è passato oltre un mese da quando ho acquistato queste carte ed in questo periodo la loro rendita sul mercato è sempre rimasta intorno al 20-30%.
Non solo, il loro valore è rimasto praticamente immutato.
Anzi, per essere precisi, in questo momento le due carte che ho acquistato, Immortalis e Possibilus the Wise, valgono più di quanto io le abbia pagate.
Un ottimo affare?
A vederla così, per ora sembrerebbe che io abbia, per una volta, preso la decisione giusta.
Queste due carte le ho pagate 60 USD, oggi valgono più di 80 USD e nel mentre mi hanno pure generati introiti per qualche migliaio di DEC.
Sembra tutto bellissimo, fin troppo bello 😂
La verità , infatti, è che molto probabilmente questa situazione non è destinata a durare particolarmente a lungo.
La rendita derivante dal noleggio durerà solo fintanto che il set Chaos Legion resterà nel Modern Format.
E il valore delle carte è oscillane: oggi valgono così, ma qualche settimana fa il prezzo era più basso e non sarei perciò per nulla meravigliato se, con la fine dei Conflits e l'arrivo di molte più carte del set Rebellion sul mercato, la situazione possa tornare a peggiore.
Tuttavia per ora sono contento delle scelte che ho fatto e spero di saper cogliere per tempo il prossimo momento in cui mi converrà adottare qualche nuovo provvedimento: le carte rare che ho conservato, ad esempio, mi sembrano quasi pronte per essere vendute... che sia giunto il momento di fare un altro passo verso un addio completo al set Chaos Legion?
