I want spring. And crocuses are one, if not the first flower to show up once winter is ending. So here we go, me drawing a crocus while I dream of warmer and more colourful times.

It begins with a sketch, to capture the rough shapes. Not entirely how it ends, but close.
Then I lay in a little colour to block it in. This helps me see if I have the shapes right.
Then I did a lot of shading, added the thingo in the middle and a background. Not really one step but I forgot to pause and take stock while working. And then it was just final steps and of course, a signature.
I am really happy with how this turned out. I think I captured the feeling of snow around it, the texture of the flower petals and pushed my ability to render with colour. I also just really enjoyed getting to stare at pictures of crocuses as inspiration while working on it.
