"How you doin' " a phrase made popular by the one and only Joey Tribianni.
Joey is one of the main characters from the Tv show Friends, a middle-aged man who started by living alone before he eventually ended up living with his friend Chandler.
CHARACTER TRAITS
Joey is a free spirit, he is always a delight to watch anytime he shows up.
He has the looks, the physique, and the swagger to attract any girl of his choice, and together with his one-liner "how you doin'?", he became a gold mine, a complete babe magnet.
Apart from being a babe magnet, his loyalty to his friends was truly unquestionable, he had no greed or betrayal instinct. And apart from acting which was his one true passion, he had a very questionable but strong passion for the ladies. I mean he as an infinite amount of love for the ladies, and the ladies loved him right back, which was not a thing to be debated because anytime he says the "How you doin' ", panties drop,
hopefully, you now get the picture.
But despite his good looks and ability to attract women, his wisdom levels were like that of a kindergarten. One can confidently say he is a man-child.
RELATIONSHIP.
He didn't have many serious relationships, seeing as he was unserious with his dating life but the only serious relationship he had was the one he shared with his friends(Ross, Chandler, Rachel, Monica, and Phoebe). But the ones he had the tightest bond with were Chandler and Phoebe.
Apart from being a man child, he was also a man whore and that's what made him loveable. (to me at least)
HIS MOTIVATION.
Fame, money, and women were his motivation, which he planned to achieve through acting. He enrolled in acting classes, and land some advertisement roles before finally landing a major role in his career as a Doctor Drake Remoray.
Although it was a huge win for Joey, his acting was still far from perfect. So with the support of his friends, he kept chasing his dreams climbing higher and higher on the success ladder.
HIS CONFLICTS.
His biggest conflicts have to be the fact that he was a struggling artist and the fact that he could not maintain a healthy relationship with women, and although he was able to achieve some level of success in his acting career, he was still not where he wanted to be in his career and his relationship status. As he ended up with zero closure at the end of the show.
He was still where he started at the beginning of the show while his friends had all made a difference and improved their lives for good.
The only thing he had different was that he was now living in Chandler and Monica's home (who were now married by the way) which to me is a huge step-down.
In conclusion.
Joey is a good description of my life, he resonates with me and me with him but after seeing his happy ending on friends (the TV show), I most definitely don't want to be like him but I still love him anyway.
