What is Splinterlands?
Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using blockchain technology. Every card in the game is owned as a non-fungible token (NFT) and is traded using similar features to cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. If you’ve ever played collectible trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh!, you’ll find a similar experience, but through a web browser and blockchain wallet.
This week, the ruleset we have to introduce for this challenge is the Holy Protection ruleset, which gives all units on the battlefield the Divine Shield ability. What does this ability do? the unit with this ability will ignore the first damage taken, leaving it unharmed. Keep in mind that Divine shield does not stack, so monsters with this ability do not receive this effect twice.
Poison still deals damage to monsters with Divine Shield (the shield is not removed), being the only ability that Divine Shield does not block at the moment.
If a monster that had Divine Shield is resurrected, it will be reapplied to that unit. For now, only the Rebirth and Resurrect ability resurrects monsters.

The first player, NaturalKiller, decides to play Selenia Sky (dragon summoner), the only beta legendary summoner that costs 3 mana, and will give her allies who have ranged attack +1 ranged attack.
In the frontline position, Blackmoor Trickster, a great ranged card that for only 3 mana has 8 hit points, can attack from the first position, and when attacking a flying monster, snares it, removing its ability to fly.
In the second position, Earth Elemental, one of the first cards in Splinterlands. It will restore a third of its max health at the start of each turn.
In the third position, the Fire Spitter dragon, which is capable of flying, having a 25% chance of evading melee and ranged attacks from non-flying monsters.
In the fourth position, a legendary card, Lightning Dragon, which is also capable of flying. Its attacks have a 50% chance of stunning the enemy, forcing it to skip its next turn. And if its attack exceeds the enemy's armor, the remainder will damage the target's health.
In the fifth position, Spirit of the forest who can also Fly, and will attack attack the first enemy that is not in the frontline and has a ranged, magic or no attack. It will heal the allied frontline monster for up to a max third of its health at the start of each turn. And it will grant +2 armor to its allies for as long as this card remains in battle.

The second player: Star-Shroud, also uses Selenia Sky as his summoner.
In the frontline position, play Great Porcupine, which can attack even in the first position, and has the Thorns ability, which will deal 2 melee damage to its attacker if it takes melee damage.
From second position to fifth, he uses the same monsters as his opponent in the exact same order, the only difference is that Fire Spitter is one level higher with +1 health.
Round 1-2 :
☠️Great Porcupine is destroyed by the Earthquake ruleset.
Lightning Dragon (Star-shroud) defeats ☠️Blackmoor Trickster.
☠️Earth elemental (Star-shroud) is destroyed by Fire Spitter (Naturalkiller).
Round 3:
Lightning Dragon (Star-shroud) defeats ☠️Earth elemental (Naturalkiller).
Round 4-5:
☠️Fire Spitter (Star-shroud) is destroyed by Lightning Dragon (Naturalkiller).
Round 6-7:
Spirit of the Forest (Star-shroud) defeats ☠️Lightning Dragon (Naturalkiller).
Round 8-9:
☠️Spirit of the Forest (Star-shroud) is destroyed by its twin enemy Spirit of the Forest (Naturalkiller).
Round 10-12:
Spirit of the Forest (Naturalkiller) ends the battle by destroying ☠️Lightning Dragon (Star-shroud).
The battle was very similar as both players used almost the same lineup with the exception of their monsters in the first position, which changed the battle completely. Naturalkiller in the first position used a monster with +3 HP than his opponent and that made the difference, managing to win the battle with 2 monsters alive.
The divine shield in this particular battle did not make much difference.
