Cubfinance is one Leofinance project that has taken a back seat in recent times but in recent times, there have been some interesting developments that haven't really hit the headlines.
A number of Hive based wraps have been introduced to the platform and this gives Hive investors a new way to actually put their assets to use. I've actually not been able to get involved in these farms because I'm way too poor at the moment but the APRs are generally interesting.
To participate in any of the farms on Cubfinance, you have to wrap your Hive based assets into the Binance version. Here's a step by step explanation of how to wrap HBD. This process can be reproduced to wrap Hive.;
- Visit wleo.io
- Select "bHBD" in from the list above
- After selecting bHBD you will be redirected to another page where you then input your Binance wallet address and the amount of HBD you want to send to the Binance chain
- Approve with Hive keychain and wait a moment for the bHBD to reflect in your Binance wallet.
Note: You might also want to visit the docs section of Cubfinance to find the contract address of bHBD. To replicate the process with Hive, select bHIVE in from the list that pops up when you open wleo.io and replicate the above process.
Over to 45% APR win HBD and Hive farms
One of the new farms introduced to Cubfinance is the BHBD/Cub farm. To participate in this far, you basically need to move HBD from Hive to Binance and then pair it with Cub tokens.
After pairing and staking your paired tokens, you will then start farming Cub tokens at a higher APR than what you'd get if you simply put your HBD into savings. The only difference is that instead of saving just HBD, you'll be pairing it with Cub and while that offers a slightly higher risk, it offers double the reward of saving on Hive.
There's also a bHive/Cub farm that is pretty much the same thing as the aforementioned bHBD farm. I'd say the main difference is that this farm is slightly riskier due to the fact that both assets in the pair can experience dramatic fluctuation.
The bHive/Cub farm offers a slightly higher APR than the bHBD version but one thing for sure is that it will most likely be more prone to impermanent losses and variations due to the volatility of the two assets in the pair.
In recent times, Hive has had a predictable trading pattern and Cub has been at 2 cents for a while, so the pair variations will not be as dramatic. However, it should be at the back of your mind when you intend to invest in this farm.
Cubs will be burned
Right now, there's a Cub burning process in the works and the best thing you can do is to actually put your funds to work by participating in any of the farms.

A big part of the funds used to buy back and burn cub come from funds generated in the multi-token bridge. There's also a lot of revenue generated from Arbitrage trading.
In any case, what is important to note is that while activity on the Cub side hasn't always hit the spotlight, it is still an important project in the Leoverse and there will be further developments.
Keep in mind that the goal has always been to create a sustainable defi environment and both Cub and Polycub were set up for that very purpose. So the way I see it, as long as there's dedication to get it right and improve, I'll continue to stick with the project.
