There are some things we have that might not be expensive or flashy, but they hold special meaning in our heart. For me, I have one small thing like that, and even though it’s not big or valuable to the eyes of others, it means a lot to me.
It’s a small necklace my mum gave me some years ago. It’s not gold or silver, just a simple chain with a small heart shaped pendant on it. Some people might even call it ordinary or nothing serious, but to me, it’s everything. My mum gave it to me when I was going through a hard time in my life. She didn’t say much, she just put it around my neck and told me, “You’re strong, and I’m proud of you.” That moment stays in my heart till today.
That necklace reminds me of love, comfort and strength. Anytime I wear it or even just hold it in my hand, I feel close to her, especially now that we don’t live together anymore. It’s like carrying a piece of her with me wherever I go. Sometimes when life feels too heavy, I just hold it and take a deep breath. It helps me remember who I am and where I’m coming from.
There are times I don’t even wear it out because I’m scared it will fall off or get lost. That’s how precious it is to me. It might look like nothing to someone else, but to me, it holds my mother’s love, her support, and those words she said to me that day. It keeps me going.
I believe everyone has that one thing something that may look small but carry big memories and emotions. Sometimes it’s not the cost of a thing that gives it value, but the story behind it. That necklace is more than jewelry to me. It’s like a reminder that I’m not alone and I’ve come a long way.
So yes, I may not have expensive things, but I have something that money can’t buy 💯❤️love, memory, and strength, all in one little necklace.
