It seems we need to keep pep talking Joseph for his own good. However, Rudvik will interrupt our speech to send us to some sort of catacomb. More monsters and puzzles will be in our way with the added fact of a very cool design for a boss battle. More of that coming up.
It's always surprising how we fall from this high altitudes and end up just hitting ourselves and picking up our bodies and walking off the pain.
This stage of the game will have us face some weird monsters and using some traps in our favor to save some ammo while we find some stone carvings to open our path forward. I liked a lot how the design of the level made it so that you can always return to the hub and from there a new path opens once you have placed the carving where it belongs.

And here we have a great element of storytelling in the form of foreshadowing. This safe will be a recurring theme throughout the whole chapter and ends being the head of this boss named The Keeper. It is a similar concept to Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. I bet they could be best buds. Finding the carvings opens a path towards a new area where we can see this boss waiting for us.
In our way we'll save Leslie from his imprisonment just to find ourselves at the mercy of this new boss.

The design of this boss battle is amazing. It uses elements that where present through the whole chapter. It also makes take some decision about how to tackle the challenge. From the get go, we find out The Keeper is immortal. We can kill his body, but it will manifest itself once again. There are safes everywhere!
We also have the added puzzle element in the fight. There are some valves we need to close to stay alive. So the whole battle becomes a tactical display. You have to know when to beat the boss and run to close the valves and prevent dying from poisoning.
One extra element are the traps this boss can set, you have to dodge them. Disarming them can give you some parts for bolts, but it takes time to do it. Also, you can exploit his immortality as he drops 1000 brain juice each time you beat him.
However, going out of the fighting stage gives you one satisfying cutscene where you smash this thing for good. But the question remains, have we beaten The Keeper?

Salvando a Joseph, otra vez...
Parece que tenemos qe seguir dándole ánimos a Joseph para mantenerlo cuerdo. Sin embargo, Rudvik tiene otros planes para nosotros y nos interrumpirá. Nos esperan más acertijos y enemigos mientras seguimos avanzando. Además, el diseño de próximo jefe es uno de los mejores del juego.
Siempre es interesante ver cómo nos ponemos de pie después de una caída tan larga y después de unos pasos cualquier rastro de dolor desaparece.
En estas catacumbas, nos enfrentaremos a varios monstruos y podremos usar algunas de las trampas en nuestro camino para ahorrar municiones. El objetivo principal será encontrar unas piedras talladas que nos abren más caminos a explorar y son la llave a una puerta principal. El diseño del nivel nos permite regresar al punto central después de encontrar una de las llaves y nos abre caminos nuevos al colocarla en su lugar. Es una forma de hacer backtracking sin necesidad de desplazarse mucho.

Uno de los mejores elememtos de anticipación en la historia la encontramos en esta imagen con la caja fuerte. Esta aparecerá en varios lugares de estas catacumbas y resulta ser la cabeza del Keeper. Este jefe guarda una similitud con Pyramid Head the Silent Hill. Estoy seguro que podrían ser amigos. Encontrar las piedras talladas nos lleva directo a la confrontación con este enemigo.
Antes de ello, liberaremos a Leslie de su prisión, pero tendremos que luchas para poder salir de este lugar.

El diseño de esta batalla es interesante. Se reutilizan todos los aspectos de la exploración de las catacumbas. También tenemos que tomar decisiones inteligentes a la hora de enfrentar esta batalla. Desde el principio, nos daremos cuenta de que el Keeper es inmortal. Podemos derrotarlo por un momento. Luego, volverá a levantarse.
Además, hay que cerrar unas válvulas durante la batalla. Esto para evitar morir por el veneno que sale de las tuberías. Entonces, hay que saber en qué momento luchas y cuando cerrar estas llaves.
El jefe también puede plantar trampas en su camino. Podemos esquivarlas. Desarmarlas toma mucho tiempo y aunque nos proporcione de piezas para hacer arpones, no vale la pena. Aunque podemos explotar la inmortalidad del jefe para obteer 1000 unidades de juego de cerebro para las mejoras de las habilidades cada vez que lo derrotamos.
Sin embargo, lo mejor viene a la hora de escapar del lugar. En un corto de escena, veremos cómo le lanzamos una trampa encima al Keeper para aplastarlo. Pero ¿será esta la última vez que lo veremos?
