Hello everyone
A beautiful day to you all on this lovely day and I hope you are all doing great, I bring you greetings from my sewing room in this great community @diyhub and it is with great pleasure that I will sharing with you the making of this simple and beautiful ruffle head band I made from left over fabric to match with my sister's first daughter outfit and I hope you will like the simplicity and beautiful outcome.
Sometimes ago, I made a beautiful ball gown for my two nieces with a beautiful outcome and they so much love those outfit as well as their parents, after the successful completion of these outfit, I had some left over pieces and as my little niece will always want to have an accessory matching with her outfit which I'm so aware of.
For my little niece, I made this simple head band for her with an elastic band and fabric flower design on it to make it beautiful and she was so happy to have it.
Her sister who is my sister's older daughter asked for hers and you know how children can be especially since they have same outfit but unfortunately, I didn't actually know where I kept the remaining left over fabric until few days ago when I luckily saw the remaining pieces where I kept it, I was so happy and I decided to make this scrunchies head band for her.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process
From the remaining pieces of left over fabric, I measured and cut out 35 x 7" for the ruffle which was folded in two and sew on a straight line down
Another piece of 15 x 2" was measured and cut out to make the ruffle as it was inserted in the long piece for the ruffle and was sewn on both ends to secure it.
For the elastic casing, I measured and cut out 14 x 3" which was sewn together and turned inside out
I measured and cut out an elastic band of 1 x 7" and it was inserted in the piece for the elastic casing and was sewn on both sides to secure it
Finally, I placed the elastic band casing on the ruffle I made right side to right side and the tip was folded in, it was then taken to the sewing machine and sewn together to secure it firmly.
It was turned to the right side and I have a beautiful outcome of a ruffle head band for my sister's daughter, I'm so glad I was able to make both head band looking so beautiful to match with their outfit.
I hope you like the simplicity and beautiful outcome of the head band I made for the girls just as the girls were so happy to have their beautiful head band.
