Hello everyone
It is my pleasure to share with you my recent creativity on how I made this beautiful headband with double bow to add a unique style to it, I hope you all are doing great on this beautiful day, I hope you will like the process and try it out on your own.
Headband usually add beauty to your outfit, it's a form of accessories you can put on your hair to make your outfit comes out nice, I have a little niece who I usually make outfit for and since she saw her friend with a matching headband with her outfit, she has been on my neck that I should make one for her, fortunately, I made a black head band for her few days ago and when I told her I will be sending it over, she asked if I made enough that she can choose from anytime she put on a different outfit, I understood what she meant, so I told her that I'm so sorry your highness, I didn't know you will need more than one 😂😂😂😂 children can be so funny, I promised I will make more for her of different types and colors since I have a lot of left over fabric around.
Today, I decided to make this beautiful headband for my little niece as additional one.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process
I used two different types of fabric to make this type of headband, a plain and a flower design fabric,to make the double bow.
I searched through my bag where I kept my leftover fabric, I found this matching color of plain and flower material which is so perfect for what I needed it for, from the left over fabric, I cut out the pieces one after the other.
I cut out five pieces of different sizes to make the desired headband
- I measured 19x6" for the band
It was taken to the sewing machine to sew and turned inside out.
For the knot on the bow, I measured 5x2.5", it was sewn and turned inside out
For the big bow, I measured out from the plain fabric and cut out 8x5" which was sewn while I left an opening in the middle for it to be turned inside out just as seen below.
For the small bow, I used the flower fabric and cut out 6.5x4" it was turned inside out after sew just as the big bow.
The elastic casing was measured 5x3" it was sewn and turned inside out
The big and small bow were sewn together, placing the small one on the big one.
I inserted 1" elastic band into the elastic casing and sew the two edges.
After sewing the elastic casing, it was placed on the long piece for the band and it was sewn together on both sides right side facing the other and I have this.
The knot for the bow was used to hold the bow together to make it stylish, it was sewn together with hand needle and thread.
Finally, the bow was attached to the side of the band with my hand needle and thread, this is the final outcome of the headband.
I had to try it on to see how beautiful it will look on my niece, I hope you like the outcome and the design of the headband I made with double bow.
