Greetings to you all my beautiful friends on hive and to everyone @diyhub community, I hope you are all having great and beautiful time out there, this is my pleasure to share with you today the step by step process and making 3 compartment hand purse with a single piece of fabric, this is creatively design for safe keeping of cards, cash and phone in their separate space in the wallet.
Sometimes ago, I made a book cover for my Bible to cover and prevent it from dirt and make it last longer with the use of fabric and the remaining fabric was kept in my bag until recently I came across it and I thought of what to make with it
Now I decided to make a matching hand purse to complement my Bible anytime I'm going out or to church with it, I will have a matching hand purse to keep my cards, cash and phone. The outcome is very useful and beautiful which I believe you will like.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process
From the remaining fabric I had, I measured and cut out 16.5 x 12.5" with lining which was set aside
I cut out same measurement of interfacing, it was folded in two and I marked out 4 x 3" then it was curved at the top and cut out.
The interfacing was ironed on the main fabric and it was sewn together with the lining following the shape of the interfacing at the top and bottom leaving an opening at the bottom where it can be turned inside out
The excess were trimmed off and I passed the other side through the inner and sew both sides together round
It was turned inside out through the opening on the bottom and it was top stitched round the shape.
It was folded in two to locate the middle and I sew on a straight line across the purse.
It was folded up and I sew on both sides, with this, I have 3 compartment purse for keeping my items just as seen here
Finally, I used my hand needle and thread to fix a pressing button on the appropriate place.
Here I have my cards, cash and phone in their separate pocket for safe keeping. I hope you like the beautiful outcome
